I recommend the Curt Trailer Hitch # C11354 for your 2015 Volkswagen Beetle Convertible. This is a Class I rated trailer hitch with a 1-1/4 x 1-1/4 inch hitch receiver, a maximum tongue weight of 200 pounds, and a maximum gross trailer weight of 2,000 pounds. This trailer hitch's installation does not require drilling.
I recommend this Curt Cargo Carrier # C18110. The sides of this cargo carrier measure 2-3/4 inches and offer 12 pre-drilled tie-down holes in the sides. The shaft of this cargo carrier is angled upward with a rise of 3-3/4 inches to offer you more ground clearance. This cargo carrier comes with a hitch bolt and pin. I have attached a review video of this carrier for you.
If you would like a cargo carrier with higher side rails, I recommend this ProSeries Cargo Carrier # 63155 for you. This cargo carrier has side rails that are 5-1/2 inches tall. These side rails help to keep your cargo secure and offer a variety of tie-down points. This cargo carrier does not come with a hitch pin and clip. The shaft of this cargo carrier is also angled and has a shank rise of 3 inches to allow you greater ground clearance. I have attached a review video of this cargo carrier for you.
Some additional parts you may want to consider are a stabilizer strap # 18050, a locking hitch pin, # e98882, and a cargo net, # C18200.
When considering the weight of the cargo you want to load onto the carrier, you will want to remember to take the weight of the cargo carrier into consideration. Also, check your Beetle's owner's manual for the weight capacities before loading any cargo on the carrier.
