Question:
We want to tow our 2015 Hyundai Elantra manual behind our new Fleetwood Southwind Motorhome. The manual 2015 Elantra IS listed as a flat-towable vehicle in the 2015 Motorhome Guide but the Elantra Owners manual is disturbingly blank on the subject and even Elantra phone reps dont seem to know much about it. Our car HAS been outfitted with a good trailer hitch and its own braking system we just want to know the procedure for when were ready to take off. What gearwere assuming neutral do we leave it in and what setting should the key be at in the ignition? Hyundai staff have NOT convincingly, suggested the Accessories ignition setting. Help!

Expert Reply:
To flat tow your manual transmission 2015 Hyundai Elantra you are going to need the gear selector to be in neutral, have the steering wheel unlocked (usually you'll need to have the key in the ACC position for this), and the emergency brake off.
