If the rear end of your 2014 Ram 1500 sags when the trailer is coupled then weight distribution would be the ideal solution. It is also recommended if the trailer weighs at least 50 percent of the gross vehicle weight which is true for your application.
You can use air bag helper springs if you want but I recommend weight distribution. Air Lift springs # AL60818 are the right ones for your 2014 Ram 1500 4x4. I have included a link to a video showing an example installation for you.
If you are interested in weight distribution then to choose a system you will need to go by the total tongue weight of the set up. This is calculated by taking the tongue weight of the trailer, when loaded and ready to tow, and adding to that the weight of anything loaded behind the rear axle of the tow vehicle.
A trailer weighing 8,500 pounds would have a tongue weight of around 850 to 1,275 pounds. I recommend a system that is rated for up to 1,500 pounds tongue weight to cover that range. Curt system # C17333 costs about the same as the air bags and you would just need to add a 2-5/16 inch ball, # C40030.
The included shank has a maximum rise of 7-1/2 inches and maximum drop of 1/2 inch. Other shanks are available separately if more rise or drop is needed. I have included some links on determining tongue weight and weight distribution for you.
