To wire the 7-way connector you have already purchased, you will need the Pigtail Wiring Harness for Pollak Replacement 7-Pole RV Socket, part # PK11998. This harness would plug into the rear of the trailer connector, and the bare leads on the other end would connect to the existing vehicle wiring, using the color code mentioned in the product description. If you do not already have one, I would recommend using a circuit tester, like part # PTW2993 to locate the correct circuits for installing the wiring harness.
As the color-coding information describes, four of the wires provide for the lighting and ground connection, one wire for the electric brake output, one wire for 12-volt power supply for the trailer and one wire for the reverse lights if the trailer is equipped with them.
All this being said, there is an easier alternative. You could use the 4-pole trailer wiring harness, part # 118395 along with the 4 to 7-Way Adapter, part # 37185. The trailer wiring harness would plug inline into the existing wiring behind the Freestyle tail light assemblies. No cutting or splicing required. The 4-pole would then plug into the adapter mentioned above for an easy, no fuss installation. The three remaining wires on the adapter are for the 12-volt accessory, brake output and reverse lights.
