Question:
Hi, I want to know if this hitch can be installed in a Volvo XC90 2013 without having to make cuts in the bumper. Also I want to know if it is suitable for the following two uses that I have in mind: - Hitch Bike Rack for 3 bicycles - Towing a rental trailer / Small.

Curt trailer hitch # 13559 does not require drilling but it does require that you trim or cut the rear fascia for installation on your 2013 Volvo XC90. The receiver will rest just below the bottom of the rear fascia. I have linked the instructions for you.
The hitch is rated to handle 3 bikes or a small rental trailer with ease. But you will want to check the vehicle owner's manual for its capacities. Whichever is lower, the hitch or the vehicle, is the capacity you need to go by.
Since you plan on doing some towing, I recommend etrailer ball mount kit # 989900. It comes with 2 ball mounts; one with a 3/4 inch rise or 2 inch drop and one with a 2-3/4 inch rise or 4 inch drop. It also includes a 1-7/8 inch ball, 2 inch ball, hitch pin with clip, and a storage bag.
If the ball mount kit does not have the right rise or drop to tow the trailer level, use the link I have included that explains how to measure to choose a ball mount to tow the trailer level.
And for trailer wiring you can use wiring harness # 118411 to add a 4-Way flat trailer connector. I have linked a video showing how it installs as well.
I have also included links to the 3 and 4-bike carriers we have. It would be easier to load 3 bikes on a 4-bike carrier because of the extra space.
