The correct tire pressure for a trailer tire will be indicated on the tire sidewall. Trailer tires should always be inflated to the full cold psi pressure noted on the tire. They should never be run under- or over-inflated since this can reduce their load capacity and lead to overheating.

Tires will vary in their required pressure based on their rated load range. For example, the linked page will show you radial tires in the ST215/75R14 size you referenced. The D-range tire # TTWTRTM2157514D requires 65-psi, the C-range tire # TTWTR21514 requires 50-psi.

I need to know what psi is for the same tire. I am unable to find it on the tire. It is for a trailer. Thank you for responding.

@Leah Is there a Load Range letter on the tire sidewall anywhere?

@JamesonC I can’t find any. I googled the tire size and it says psi should be 50. Guess I’ll go with that. Thank you for your response.

@Leah I can't post pictures here but if you check out this link you'll see what the psi requirement is: https://images.etrailer.com/static/images/pics/t/t/ttwtrtm2157514d_12_1000.jpg

I have the brand Future tires 215x85x14 on my single axle aluminum trailer and was wondering what the cold tire pressure should be? Thank you

@Patrick The correct cold tire pressure for your Future brand 215/85R14 tires depends on the load range, not just the tire size. If you check the sidewall of the tire, you should see something like: -Max Load XXXX lbs at 50 PSI Cold (Load Range C) -Max Load XXXX lbs at 65 PSI Cold (Load Range D) -Max Load XXXX lbs at 80 PSI Cold (Load Range E) For most trailer tires, the recommended cold tire pressure is the maximum PSI listed on the sidewall to ensure the tire can carry its full rated load.
