Recommended Tire/Wheel Combo For Trailer

Updated 06/01/2015 | Published 05/31/2015

Question:

I have older P155 80 B12 tires, and would like to purchase an additional spare tire and wheel. Are your tire sizes compatible, or would I need to change out the existing tires and wheels as well.?

The tires we offer are designed for use on trailers and are not intended to be used on passenger vehicles. The letter P on the tires you described are intended for passenger vehicles. If this is on a trailer you may want to check all of the tires and consider changing out all the tires. Trailer tires are constructed with stronger sidewalls than an automobile tire and can handle higher air pressure and heavier loads.

If you are looking for a wheel/tire replacement for a trailer, the closest we come to the size you asked about is part # AM31202 for an ST145R12 tire and wheel with a 5 on 4-1/2 wheel bolt pattern. For the same tire on a wheel that has a 4 on 4 bolt pattern I recommend part # AM31208. These are load range D radial tires with 8 ply ratings and feature a maximum load capacity of 1,220 lbs at 65 psi. These are intended for trailers only and not designed for any other vehicles.

I have attached a product review video you can check out, and I have also attached a link to a helpful article that explains how to measure the wheel bolt pattern on a wheel you might want to take a look at.
