Question:
I have a 2006 Silverado with power paddle mirrors I was told the connection should already be in the doors to upgrade to tow mirrors with heat and turn signals so should be like plug and play is this true?

The K-Source custom towing mirror # KS62074G you referenced is a confirmed fit for your 2006 Chevy Silverado, but if you have the integrated factory wiring for heat and turn signals, it won't work on this mirror.
We do offer the K-Source custom towing mirrors # KS62075-76G with LED turn signals, heated and power mirrors. If your current mirrors do not have the turn signal or heat functions, there is no guarantee that those functions are active in the wiring harness on your truck. If you remove your current mirror, you could use a circuit tester like # PTW2993 to test the wiring connector on your truck to see if it has power with the turn signals and defrost. If you have power, the mirror # KS62075-76G will work using the turn signal and defrost. If you don't have power, then the turn signal and defrost function will not work.
I included a installation video on a similar style truck for you to look at.
