Replacement Trailer Side 4-Pole Connector for Boat Trailer

Question:

I have boat trailer that has damaged 4 way connector on trailer. It is a Wesbar 4 way but has 8 wires. Do you have a repair/replacement part for this? Thanks in advance.

We do offer replacement trailer-side 4-pole wiring kits that you can use to replace the damaged one on your boat trailer.

For a trailer-side 4-pole we offer various lengths, such as the 4-foot Wesbar # W787264, 8-foot harness # W787268 and 14-foot # W787274. The Hopkins part # HM48240 that you referenced is a similar 20-foot harness. This features a wishbone construction, which means dual running light wires so that there is one for each side of the trailer. We also have a 35-foot long harness # A35W42B.

I am not sure about why there are 8 wires on your 4-pole connector. There may be multiple grounds or it may be a wishbone type with multiple running light wires.

In any case you may want to use a junction box like # 38656 and ring terminal connectors like # DW05702-1 to make your splices. The box will protect your connections from corrosion and make it easier to wire both sides together.
