Just about every product, if you look at the labels, will have that exact warning on it. That is because it is some sort of law in California (Prop 65). Metals like brass, which is used in the majority of fittings like # CAM40055, contains copper and zinc but in the brass manufacturing process machinists use lead to make the brass easier to work with.
The lead content is a very small amount of the total composition. The brass fittings you use everyday will have some degree of lead. If the lead content does not meet that California proposition standard then they have to put that warning on products. If you look it up there is even a sign posted at Disneyland that states the resort contains chemicals known to the state of California to cause cancer and birth defects or other reproductive harm.
