Question:

I see you recommend Roadmaster base plate 1437-3 for 07-10 Jeep Wrangler with Rugged Ridge Bumper Still true for a 13 with the Rugged Ridge XHD bumper? The bumper is not yet installed. Advantage to leaving stock bumper for base plate options, tow set ups, etc.? Would be NICE to have removable arms but... Thank you in advance for your attention and response. I look forward to ordering the set-up form you soon!

The only aftermarket bumper base plate kit option we carry for the 2013 Jeep Wrangler is the Warn Elite bumper. If you had that bumper you could install the Roadmaster XL Base Plate kit part # 1439-1. Otherwise if you keep the stock bumper you would want the part # 1444-1 base plate kit. Both of these kits have removable arms. We do not have a base plate kit option for the Rugged Ridge bumper on your 2013 Wrangler.

In addition to the base plates, you will also need a compatible tow bar, safety cables, lighting, and supplemental braking to flat tow your vehicle. The most popular compatible tow bar is the Falcon 2, # RM-520. For safety cables you can use # RM-643. The coiled design helps keep the cables off of the ground.

For lighting you can use the bulb and socket kit, # RM-155, and not have to worry about cutting and splicing into the vehicle wiring.

And finally, most states now require supplemental braking in the vehicle being flat towed. The easiest system to set up and use is the Even Brake proportional system, # RM-9400, that applies the vehicle brakes in proportion to how much the two vehicle is braking. This is the safest way to stop and it reduces wear and tear on both vehicles.
