Roller Bunk and Bunk Bracket Recommendation for a Boat with Changing Angle Hull

Updated 04/28/2015 | Published 04/26/2015

Question:

I have a 20foot Wellcraft on an aluminum I-beam trailer with 10foot long wood bunks. I am very interested in adding the roller bunks on top of the existing wood bunks. My thoughts were to buy 4 4foot roller bunks and attach them to the top of the wood bunks leaving about 2foot between the two on each bunk. The boat weighs about 2000 lbs. The bunks and hull are slightly curved from front to back. Hull has a slight convex curve while the bunks have a slight concave curve for even contact. Do you see this being a problem if I add roller bunks? Any other thoughts or advice is welcome Thank You

Since your current bunks have a bit of a curve to then I would recommend using the bunk roller brackets part # DL21742 instead of mounting the # DL21740 directly to your wood bunks. These brackets will allow the rollers to swivel and match the angle of your hull.

If you mean that your bunks curve up then roller bunks would not be our best option as there is no way to bend them.

Other than that your plan sounds good. Since the # DL21740 is sold in pairs you would only need to order a quantity of two if you need a total of 4 rollers.
