Updated 04/15/2015 | Published 04/14/2015

Question:

I have a tracker boat and trailer made in 2000.The tag on the trailer says the tires are F78-14 L R C? It also has 14x6.0,2290 gwwr\gawr. The boat is a TV18 total weight 2265.It has P185/65R14 that were on it.Im the 2nd owner so I dont know if the tires have been changes before. The tire shop says they are pretty small tires for that trailer but I cant find what size it should take.

The original tire size for your trailer would be the one I would recommend. The F78-14 is basically the same as the ST205/75R14. The LR C indicates you need a Load Range C as well.

For that I would recommend the radial, ST205/75R14, Load Range C, tire part # AM10234.

A radial tire flexes more than a bias tire, giving it better ground contact, traction, stability, and tread wear.
