Question:

Im considering a platform bike rack for my 2001 Accord. Primary goal is to carry carbon frame road bike with 700c wheels, and at other times carry MTBs with 27.5inch and 29inch wheels. Secondary goal is to fit MTB 26inch wheels and BMX cruiser 24inch wheels. If I install hitch C11290, will either Swagman S64686 or Kuat Sherpa S101 have clearance to fold? Meet my carrying goals? Thanks!

The receiver on the trailer hitches for your 2001 Honda Accord, including # C11290, are recessed a little under the rear of the vehicle. The Swagman Semi would not work when folded up because it is only 3 inches back from the center of the hitch pin hole when folded.

The Kuat Sherpa, # SH12G, measures 7-1/2 inches from the center of the pin hole back to the nearest part of the carrier. The Sherpa does accept wheel sizes from 20 inches to 29 inches.

The Kuat NV, # NV12G, offers more clearance when folded at 7-7/8 inches and also accepts wheels from 20 to 29 inches.
