Question:

My wife is interested in purchasing a step-through style bike similar to the Giant Sedona DX W. Does the Curt 2 Bike Platform Rack - 1-1/4" and 2" Hitches - Frame Mount - Tilting # C18085 accommodate this style of bike frame?

The Curt 2 Bike Platform Rack - 1-1/4" and 2" Hitches - Frame Mount - Tilting # C18085 should work just fine for your wife's new bike.

The # C18085 is designed to be able to carry bikes with a wheelbase up to 68 inches and tire widths up to 3 inches. Since you said your wife's bike is similar to the Giant Sedona DX W bike so I used that in my research. You can use the dimensions I mentioned about the # C18085 to make sure it works with the bike.

You will want to make sure you have enough clearance when selecting a bike carrier. I have attached a helpful article that explains how to measure to make sure you clear the back bumper or rear mounted spare tire. The # C18085 has a distance of 12-1/2 inches from the center of the hitch pin hole to the closest edge of the wheel hoop and has a 10-inch rise on the shank which gives you more ground clearance.

I also recommend securing the bike rack to the hitch and deterring theft of the bike by using the Anti-Rattle Hitch Lock for Hollywood Racks, part # HRLHPT. I've included a link to a product review for this lock you can take a look at.
