Question:
I ordered the Draw-Tite Ball Mounts - 36078 1 1/4inch Class 2 Drawbar with a 4 3/4inch Drop. I have a 2012 Ford Escape Limited with the 6 cylinder 240 hp engine. The Class 2 Hitch is rated for 3500 pounds. Just want to make sure this ball mount is OK for this vehicle. Thanks

The ball mount that is recommended for aftermarket Class II Draw-Tite hitches is # 36051, or for Curt hitches for your 2012 Ford Escape you'd use # C45521. You will want to consult the vehicle owners manual and/or Ford though because on many Class II hitches you have to use the ball mount specified by the hitch manufacturer. If they don't specify then yes, you could use # 36078.
Either ball mount accepts a ball with a 3/4 inch diameter shank. For a 1-7/8 inch you can use # A-80 (rated for 2,000 pounds) and for a 2 inch you would use # A-82 (rated for 3,500 pounds).
