According to my research, the Air Shutters on your 2015 Malibu will prevent base plates from being installed. From what I've been told, the Air Shutters are actually a component of the emissions system of the vehicle, so therefore it would be illegal to alter or tamper with that system.

The best bet for towing your Malibu would be to use a tow dolly like the # RM-2000-1. The tow dolly might seem horrifically expensive, but it's actually similar to the total cost of the equipment that would be required to tow the vehicle on all 4 wheels. Plus, you can use the tow dolly for multiple vehicles, if needed.
