Does the DeeZee Tailgate Assist Help with Lifting the Tailgate on a 2014 Ford F-150

Question:
Does the tailgate assist also lessen the effort to lift the tailgate? From the description it seems it only assists with lowering.

The DeeZee tailgate assist # DZ43200 only helps in lowering the tailgate but not lifting it. We do not have a product that will assist on lifting the tailgate on a 2014 Ford F-150.
