Question:
I bought chains from northern and they were not hardened steel 8 links detached after 150-all twisted in the side chain or simply bent and disconnected- are these chains you sell from hardened steel?

Expert Reply:
The Titan Chain Alloy Snow Tire Chains # TC2219SCAM that you referenced are made of manganese nickel alloy which is incredibly strong. As long as you install these chains correctly, use them properly, and don't exceed their speed rating of 30 miles per hour you would not have to worry about them coming apart on you. We sell a lot of chains and haven't had any issues with these chains so I would recommend them for you.
I attached a review video for you to check out as well.
Lastly, you will want to check the owners manual of your vehicle to determine if there are any restrictions on snow chain usage.
