Can a 2015 Ford Edge Titanium 3.5 be flat towed.

According to the 2015 Ford Edge owner's manual you can flat tow the 2015 Edge Titanium if it has the 2.7 liter EcoBoost or 3.5 liter motor and 6-speed automatic transmission.

Since you have a 3.5 liter then as long as you have the 6-speed automatic you can flat tow your Edge using base plates # RM-524448-4 if you have Active Cruise Control. If you don't have Actice Cruise Control instead you want # RM-524454-4 instead. And for a compatible tow bar with either kit I recommend the Roadmaster Sterling, # RM-576. This tow bar also comes with safety cables and a wiring connector you can use if you'd like.

For lighting you can use a simple magnetic kit such as # RM-2120. Or for a more permanent solution you can use diode kit # RM-152. I have linked a video showing an example installation. You can use the wiring connector that the Sterling comes with with this kit.

And finally, most states now require supplemental braking on the vehicle being flat towed. One of the preferred systems for our installers is the SMI Stay-IN-Play DUO proportional system, # SM99251. It will apply the vehicle brakes in proportion to how much the tow vehicle is braking. This is the safest way to stop and it reduces wear and tear on both vehicles.
