Question:
MY existing latch was welded to approx. 1inch arm and weld broke or was broken. Will this handle work ? thanks for your help.

The Replacement Handle Latch # 158-101 that you referenced was designed to be bolted on but there's no reason it couldn't be welded on as well.
I spoke to my contact at Redline and he informed me that the Replacement Handle Latch # 158-101 that you referenced is made from galvanized steel so you will need to weld in a well-ventilated area.
