If the gross trailer weight is 4,000 pounds (2 tons) you would need a pintle rated greater than 4,000 pounds. The gross weight would be the total weight of the trailer plus anything loaded on it. Pintle hook # C48205 is rated for 10,000 pounds so it would work just fine. You would also need a mount to attach the pintle hook to so use it in a 2-inch trailer hitch receiver. You can use # 63057. And for hardware you can use # 43076.
