Will Yakima 21 SkyBox Fit 2014 Mazda CX-5 with Yakima Roof Rack

Question:

I checked on Yakimas fit guide on their website and they said that the skybox 21 will fit on a cx-5 using the q clips/tower rack system. I have the skybox 21, the q tower system and the rail grabber system and was interested in buying a cx-5, not so interested if my cargo box wont fit.

The Yakima SkyBox 21 Cargo Box, part # Y07337, will fit on your 2014 Mazda CX-5 with a Yakima roof rack with round crossbars, Q Clips, and Q Towers Roof Rack Feet for a naked roof. The cargo box will clamp to your crossbars with integrated clamps that adjust and tighten with a cam-action lever inside the box. The lever slides along a track and is tightened and released by hand knobs.

When installing a roof cargo box to your Mazda CX-5 you will want to check the weight capacity of your factory roof rack in the owner's manual or with the Mazda dealer and make sure not to exceed that capacity.

To determine if the # Y07184 cargo box will clear the rear hatch of your 2014 CX-5 you will need to take a measurement on your vehicle's roof.

The minimum clearance measurement to determine rear hatch clearance is taken from the center of the front crossbar of the roof rack on your vehicle to the seam of the rear hatch on your CX-5. That measurement will need to be 57 inches or more for the roof cargo box to clear the rear hatch on your vehicle. I am including a picture that will show the minimum clearance measurements on Yakima roof cargo boxes to determine rear hatch clearance on a vehicle.
