Would the Kuat Sherpa 2.0 have Clearance to Fold Up When Installed on a 2012 Toyota Venza

Question:

I have a curt 2inch box receiver on my 2012 and 2013 Toyota venza. identical cars, with identical receivers. the receivers are slightly recessed under the bumper. I was looking at the kuat Sherpa 2 bike hitch mounted carrier. reading the reviews and watching the videos, I wanted to ensure that there will be no clearance issues. please advise, as I dont want to have to trim the plastic saddle to be able to fold up the carrier when not in use. thanks,

The Kuat Sherpa 2.0 Bike Rack, part # SH12G, is a great bike rack. All you need to do to determine if this rack would clear the rear bumper of your car is take one simple measurement. You will need to measure from the center of the hitch pin hole out to the furthest point out on the rear bumper of your vehicle. Most likely this measurement will be 3-1/2 inches since the Curt Hitch recommended for your vehicle (part # 13356) when installed on a similar vehicle as yours here at etrailer had 3-1/2 inches from the pin hole to the bumper.

The # SH12G has a distance of 11 inches from the center of the pin hole to the nearest part of the rack when folded down and 7-1/2 inches when folded up so it should clear easily.
