Where Does the Solenoid of the Superwinch LT3000ATV Winch # SW1130220 Need to Install

Question:
Im looking for a good location to install the solenoid on my 2007 Honda Rancher 400. Does it have to be close to the battery or can I put it up front on the winch mounting bracket? How critical is it that it stays dry?

It is recommended that you install the solenoid of the Superwinch LT3000ATV Winch # SW1130220 in the battery box or as close as you can to it keeping it out of the direct contact with water or weather. Failure to install it where Superwinch recommends could cause premature failure of the solenoid and/or warranty failure.
