Question:

I have a 2004 Nissan Armada with factory tow package, I have been towing my travel trailer for several years without any issues. I noticed beginning of this year I lost the trailer right turn signal and break light. I first thought it was the bulb but it wasnt. I have narrowed down to the tow vehicle, when I placed a volt meter at the 7-pin connector and activitie the right turn signal, I didnt get any reading at all, but the left turn signal works fine. Under the hood I see there are only 2 relays, one is blue and the other is brown. Ive checked all the related fuses and they are all fine. I think one of the relay is bad, I am not sure if you agree with me, any input/help will be greatly appreciated. If you agree with me, which relay do I need to replace. Have you in advance.

On some Nissan vehicles like your 2004 Armada there are also relays and/or fuses inside the in-cab fuse panel so you will want to check those as well. Use the vehicle owners manual to find all locations of the fuses and relays related to the tow package wiring.

I agree that it does sound like a fuse or relay. Checking fuses is easy but relays are trickier. Basically, the easiest way to test a relay is to use a known good relay in place of a potential bad one. The turn signal functions on the Nissan tow package are controlled by a small blue relay that can be obtained with the Curt Relay Kit # C57000. This relay kit # C57000 will give you some spares.

I have linked a video that should help as well. The other issue is that if a short caused a fuse or relay to blow then the problem will keep happenings. You will want to check the trailer wiring for pinched or damaged wires and the trailer and vehicle side connectors for corrosion.
