Video Transcript for Review of Terran Axle Trailer Brakes - Left And Right Hand Self Adjusting Electric - TX97ZJ

Hi, everybody. Andy here with etrailer.com. Let's take a real quick look at this Terran Axle Left and Right-Hand Self-Adjusting Electric Trailer Brake Kit. Now this is designed for your 10-inch brake setups on your 3,500-pound trailer axle, and I just wanted to show you the measurement here, getting my ruler. You notice measuring from the end of the brake pad, the end of the brake pad, that's where we get our 10 inches, and then looking at the width of the brake pad we are sitting right at 2-1/4 inches. Do you notice that So this is going to include the left hand and the right hand, and on these assemblies in particular, they are clearly labeled there with the L or the R engraved in the back, and so this is going to give you consistent braking for trailers with electric drum setups, and these are self-adjusting brakes, and you can tell that by the steel cable here that's wrapped around this pulley, and then it's connected to our star gear here, star wheel adjuster, and so you're just going to install these and then they're going to calibrate as you brake.

This is going to be a four-bolt mounting flange pattern. As you can see there, the bolts are already installed in these assemblies. We do sell these separately as well, so if you only need the left or the right, you can find those options here at etrailer.com. If you happen to have any other additional questions, don't hesitate to reach back out to us. We do wanna be sure that you're getting exactly what you want and need.

I think that's gonna wrap up our look today. I do hope that it was helpful for you. Again, my name is Andy. Thank you for joining me.

  • Replacement for Lippert 126003 Hub and Drum Assembly
Hi Jeff, welcome back! Is that the 126003? I don't see a 1260031 but the Lippert 126003 is a 3,500 lb hub with a 5 on 4-1/2 bolt pattern. Assuming that is correct, the Terran Axle Trailer Hub and Drum Assembly # TX68VJ will work as a replacement.

  • Need a Replacement Axle for my Trailer
Hey, Andy. It looks like from the pictures you sent, your trailer has torsion axles. Right now, we only carry leaf spring axles, so I won’t be able to offer an exact replacement. That said, we do have a great alternative! You can switch over to a Timbren Axle-Less setup. Based on your axle tag, you have a 3.5k axle, so you’d want part # ASR3500S05. A common bolt pattern for that axle rating is 5 on 4-1/2, so you can use part # AKHD-545-35-EZ-K for the hub and drum assembly, and the matching...

  • What Is The Brake Flange Bolt Spacing For Terran Axle Electric Trailer Brakes TX97ZJ?
Hey Dan, thanks for reaching out. The Terran Axle Electric Trailer Brakes # TX97ZJ use a standard 4-bolt brake flange. The spacing between the bolt holes is 2-7/8" center to center. This is standard for modern 3,500 lb axles. Some older axles do not use the same standard bolt spacing so you will definitely want to measure and confirm this matches. I edited a picture to help illustrate. What kind of trailer do you have?
