The Shaper 80 cargo basket is a lightweight option for transporting gear on your roof. It maximizes your cargo-carrying capacity, and it keeps damp or dirty gear out of your vehicle's interior. The aerodynamic shape helps to reduce drag and wind noise, and the low-profile design and flat cargo area make it easy to load gear. The basket mounts to square bars with included hardware. And it's constructed of aluminum with a silver powder coat finish so it won't rust if you leave it on your roof.
The Shaper 80 front panel works like a fairing to direct air up and over the basket. This reduces drag and wind noise as you drive. And the basket sits flush with the top of your crossbars to create a low profile.
The basket has tapered side walls that allow you to easily load your gear. The floor is made of flat panels that make it easy to shift and properly position cargo.
You can secure your gear to the basket with straps, rope, or a cargo net (sold separately). If using a cargo net, attach the net hooks to the bottoms of the side walls or the front and rear panels. Straps or ropes should be routed under the basket and around your cargo to secure it in place.
The basket installs easily on square crossbars with brackets and hand knobs. Simply set the brackets over your bars, swing the T-bolts into place under the bars, and tighten the hand knobs to secure the basket in place.
Rubber pads are included to cushion the bottom of the basket where it rests on your crossbars. This will protect the crossbars from scratches and help to reduce road noise.

Just finished mounting the basket to a set of the crossbars made by the same company. Fit and finish are great. My wife likes how it looks on her 2018 Jeep Cherokee Trail Hawk. Haven’t used it yet for luggage so 4 stars as I can’t comment on function. This fits much better than the 4 slat basket. E-trailer customer support was very helpful after I discovered the 4 slat version of this was too wide for the Cherokee.

We went with this style of basket as it seems less obtrusive when not being used. We will leave on if we have upcoming use and take off for long periods of inactivity. It is easy to install and easy to load, unlike some bags we looked into. Netting a basket this size has been a concern as there are not many choices and while etrailer customer service is excellent, inno is not. For non-pro campers like us, this has been a solid choice.
I was looking for a roof basket that was low profile, sturdy, and aerodynamic. This fit everything I needed. It did great on our 6 hour trip with a cargo bag in it. The installation was easy and straightforward as well. The team at etrailer helped me find a good cargo net to fit around this platform basket which gave me confidence in carrying things up there. Overall I’m happy with this roof basket.
I have installed on my car but not actually used it yet. The instructions were clear, and the parts fit together well. I have Thule wingbar evo crossbars on my car and the bolts that fit into the t track were barely long enough to take the rwo washers and nut, which is why it didn’t get 5 stars. It took a lot of trial and error to get the nut on. Otherwise I am pleased with the basket.
