Reese 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch w/ Round Tube Slider - Dual Jaw - 16,000 lbs
part number: RP30075

Fifth-wheel trailer hitch provides excellent jaw-to-king-pin contact with a 2-jaw latching system. Non-binding, round-tube slider helps to eliminate clearance concerns during slow-speed turns. Rails and installation kit sold separately.

Features:

  • 2-Jaw locking system provides more jaw-to-king-pin contact than slide-bar models
    • Less rattle
    • Greater security
  • Round-tube slider provides clearance required for your short-bed pickup to turn safely at slow speeds
    • Prevents trailer from hitting the cab of your pickup during sharp, slow-speed turns
    • Inhibits binding and provides smooth operation
  • 4-Way pivoting head eases hookup on unlevel ground
  • 3" Height adjustment
  • Wide stance offers excellent stability
  • Black powder coat finish resists corrosion
  • Locking handle has cushioned grip
  • Above-bed rails and mounting kit sold separately
    • Fits Curt, Valley, Draw-Tite, Hidden-Hitch and Reese base rails
    • Cut installation time in half by using a vehicle-specific bracket kit instead of the universal kit

Specs:

  • Gross towing weight: 16,000 lbs
  • Vertical load limit: 4,000 lbs
  • Installed hitch height (including rails): 15" - 18"
  • Travel: 11" front to back
  • 5-Year limited warranty

Note: This fifth-wheel trailer hitch will not fit pickups with beds shorter than 6'. It also will not fit trucks with flareside/stepside bed. A minimum 13" extended trailer pin box is recommended. If using a slider, hitch will not adjust to lowest height setting.

Reese Double Jaw

Secure, 2-Piece Jaw

Unlike the more economical slide-bar models, the rounded, 2-piece jaw on this fifth-wheel trailer hitch inhibits rattle and movement by securely wrapping around your trailer's king pin, resulting in easier hookup and a safer, quieter ride.

Round-Tube Slider

Most often used on trucks with 6' beds, this roller helps to eliminate clearance problems during slow-speed turns. When you are towing a fifth-wheel trailer, your hitch must be situated on the cab side of your truck's rear axle. However, at slow speeds you can use a roller to slide the fifth-wheel hitch (and the trailer) toward your truck's tailgate and past the rear axle, creating enough space between the cab of your truck and the trailer to permit less-restricted turning.

Was looking for a bolt on kit for bare frame rails for a hotshot truck. These require support in the middle (at least one center bolt in each rail). Ended up having a fabricator weld a plate for support and mount the rails to that. But I guess that's reasonable for a universal kit.

This Universal Rail Kit installed with relative ease and the included instructions were clear and easy to follow.

You can find the instructions on our website, right here on the product page. Look for the "Installation Details" link closer to the top of the page.

This hitch has a feature or two we didn't even expect. It was an easy install and is performing great. Plenty of maneuverability and rock stable. etrailer's service was incredible and stayed on top of the delivery until we got it. We thought they went the second mile to make sure we got our hitch.

by: Cale09/11/2023

Worked perfect used with airlift AL57298. Didn’t see any picture of universal rails and air bag kit working togther.

by: Bryan02/20/2019

Best value for the money! I have used this hitch for a season now and I must say, it's worked out great. I use a Teflon plate with it and this hitch doesn't have much play in it going down the road. I have not had any issues with it sliding when locked.

I am very impressed with the fit and finish. Packaging from etrailer.com was inadequate. UPS man unloaded the package, rang the doorbell and drove away before I got outside. There was a lock washer laying on the ground and a bracket was hanging out of the box. We opened the package and inventoried everything, and to my amazement everything was there. Ordering process was very easy and my order shipped quickly. While on my lunch break at work I added 6 items to my cart and printed it so I could complete the order when I got home. About 4 hours later 3 of the 6 items increased in price. This hitch increased in price by $2, not a big deal I guess. I was able to find this item about $12 cheaper at another retailer and I provided this information to etrailer.com. Within a few hours they refunded me 110% of the difference. I am installing this on a 2002 Dodge Ram 1500 short bed and the instructions are lacking. Maybe a professional installer who has done this many times would not have any problems, but the instructions leave some things to your imagination.

Working great after one year of use. Use it to tow a 30 gooseneck trailer and it has worked as advertised. I bought a used 5th wheel hitch and although I have never used it, it fits perfectly in the rail system.

by: Cindy B08/11/2016

purchased just the rails for 5th wheel receiver as we bought a used camper and the Reese Easy Loader came with it but owner did not want to remove rails from their truck. Technician was excellent in helping with installation and emailed us directions specific to my truck. Shipping was quick and install went well. We had room to use 12 bolts vs 10 so we did. We did install 1" forward in bed as we had room to do it. Better more forward when hauling. The knurled bolts were too short for our truck bed and we called and let them know. We had our own that were longer so no delay in install.

Fantastic!! In fact we just removed the hitch for the first time and rails are no issue in truck bed. Easy ineasy out after rails installed.

The kit arrived very quickly, in fact shipping was moved from "5 to 7 days" to "3 to 5 days"and arrived in 5 day. During Christmas rush this was great, and really appreciated. I ask a technician friend to install it for me. It went together very nicely.

I am rating this as EXCELLENT, do to the ease of installation an the escallation of the shipping arrangement. Thank You for a great product and great service.

I sent an email and was very pleased to get a response the next day, It was a universal kit RP30035, I had to make spacers for 3 of the frame brackets, the gaps were all over the map no matter how much I squared it up, all in all I'm pleased.

2015 Ford F-150

Installed these rails with the short bed Reese bracket kit for 2015 or newer f150. Installation went well. Instructions were pretty straight forward but measurements from end of bed were not quite right and put the rails too far forward of the underbed brackets by about 2". I actually measured off the cross rails under the bed of the truck after I had installed the brackets.

Helpful hint: after getting a hole drilled on either side of the front rail to secure it to brackets under bed, put the hitch on both rails which will line up the rear rail exactly right then drill the rest of your mounting holes.

The included spacers are not quite thick enough and have come out from between the rails and bottom of the bed a few times even after I tightened bolts so much, bed started to bend. Have to find some other Shem's to make it tight enough.

I would recommend these rails eventhough it took a little bit to get them in the right location.

PS - Be very careful when drilling holes on driver side as you are right over the gas tank.

I've had this system installed in my 1996 Ford F150 for a year now. I did the installation myself and found it to be relatively easy. I had to remove the rear tires to give better access to the frame, but after I did that drilling the needed holes and bolting in the brackets was straight foward. I use these rails with a gooseneck plate and have had no trouble pulling anything yet.

by: Zach08/14/2021
2006ChevroletSilverado

Original package was damaged by UPS somewhere during transport and delivery. etrailer made it very easy to get the missing part (smaller mounting bracket fell out of box somewhere) and instead of just sending the one part they re sent the bolt kit, all four mounting brackets, and a new pull cord. So basically the entire assembly other than the base rails. Could’nt be happier and will post pictures as soon as it’s installed

I installed this kit in my 2006 Silverado 2500HD to hold a Reese 16k sliding hitch. The kit is very well built and had more parts than required to complete the installation. Once installed, works great and am very pleased!

The work itself is cumbersome and a couple things to be aware of. First, I squared and centered the rails as required. Before I drilled in the bed, I set the hitch in the rails and they moved slightly and had to recenter. This only tops a few minutes but I recommend setting the hitch in the rails before drilling. Second, the alignment for the front chassis brackets was challenging. You have to drill the bottom two bolt holes to ensure you can get a wrench in the nuts as the frame is enclosed there and reaching around the tank and brake lines. The instructions were not specific as to which holes to drill.

Installation went as printed, took two of us 4 hrs. instead of 2, but I am a perfection freak, centered within 1/32" . Have not used it yet, but will be shortly. Installed to specs provided. Will purchase next hitch from etrailer, Did not call for help, but good to know they were there if needed.

by: Gerald 03/17/2021

once i finally got the bottom platform to fit it went together quite well. It is really heavy for a 74 year old to wrestle around but i have a 40 year old son to help. Have never had to slide it back to back the fifth wheel up but have not had any close quarters to deal with. I would imagine that one of these made out of aluminum would be really expensive and probably not as strong.

by: Josh S. 10/31/2016

Product is as it was described. Straight forward installation. Only problem I had was minor shipping damage. The ear of the 5th wheel plate was bent from it being dropped I would guess. Better packaging would've solved this...

Long beds avoid the need for slider hitches (and the need to get out of the truck to release the slider every time you need to make low-speed sharp turns). A 1-ton long bed like the Ram 3500 or the F-350 is an ideal choice for 5th wheel towing, both for pulling power and trailer-to-truck clearance. The linked diagram shows you the recommended minimum clearances for 5th wheel towing. Some combinations of short bed truck and trailer will

I looked up the capacity of your truck and every configuration of it with your engine has quite a bit more towing capacity than 7,500 lbs so you'd be good. • How to Tow Fifth Wheel Trailer with 2015 Ram 2500 that has Rambox and Factory Rail Kit
  • You have the very elusive Ram truck that has the factory rail kit and the Ramboxes which is more difficult than usual to tow a fifth wheel trailer with due to the width of the Ramboxes but there is a way. You'll have to use a fixed hitch designed for the rail kit of your truck like the B and W Companion # BWRVK3600 but then you'll have to use a Sidewinder installed on the trailer to allow you the clearance to allow the trailer to pivot over the bed rails without interference. • How to Determine if a 1976 Ford F-250 Can Tow a Fifth Wheel Trailer
  • Whether or not you can tow a certain fifth wheel with your truck will depend on the weight of the trailer and the capacities of the truck. I couldn't find any info on the towing capacities for your truck due to the age but if you still have the owners manual it should be listed there. For fifth wheel rails you would need the part # RP30035 which is a universal rail kit confirmed to fit your truck. For a fifth wheel hitch then you would want the part # RP30928 for a 20k hitch.

  • Parts Needed for 5th Wheel Hitch Installation in 1996 Ford F-250
  • 5th wheel base rail installation kits include base rails, frame brackets and all required installation hardware. The Reese 5th wheel base rail installation kit # RP30035 and 16K 5th wheel hitch # RP30047 are fully compatible with each other and with your truck. The base rail kit is the universal-fit type; these cost less but take longer to install due to the need for frame drilling. If you want to have the easiest base rail install use a custom kit # DM8552005-71. For a wiring harness

  • Where Do Fifth Wheel Rails Install in Bed of 2000 Ford F-250 Short Bed
  • The king pin of a fifth wheel trailer is typically carried right over the center of the rear axle of the truck. Sometime it might be an inch forward but for a short bed truck like yours it's typically centered right over the axle. With the universal fifth wheel rail kit part # RP30035 the rear rail edge gets installed with it's rear edge exactly 29-1/4 inches from the rear of the truck bed floor.

  • No-Drill Fifth Wheel Rail Kit Recommendation for a 1997 Ford F-250 Short Bed
  • There is one fifth wheel hitch and rail kit option for your 1997 Ford F-250 short bed that would be a no-drill solution that would be custom fit for your truck frame. It's actually the nicest setup around too so I know you would be happy with it. The B and W rail kit part # BWGNRK1100-5W has been confirmed as a fit for your truck. It doesn't require drilling and it doubles as a gooseneck hitch so I would highly recommend it. Then for a hitch the B and W Companion Slider part # BWRVK3400-5W

  • Recommended Slider Fifth Wheel For 2015 Toyota Tundra With Tow Package
  • You will want to check your owner's manual or with your dealership to make sure you know the towing capacity of the hitch and your 2015 Toyota Tundra. We have several fifth wheel hitches that will work well for you. The hitch I recommend is the Curt Q24 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch w/ R24 Slider, part # C16546. This fifth wheel has a 2-jaw locking system that provides a 360 degree jaw around the king pin which means less rattle. This has a gross towing weight capacity of 24,000 lbs and the

  • Fifth Wheel Rail Kit Recommendation for a 1992 Ford F-350
  • Your best option is going to be to go with the Reese Universal fifth wheel rail kit part # RP30035 that you referenced. It looks like your older rails are the industry standard dimension rails that most fifth wheel rails will fit in, but we can't recommend a bracket kit for an unknown set of base rails. Especially one as old as yours. We cannot recommend them because there have been several fit issues between base rails and frame brackets between manufacturers.

  • Recommended Rails and Mounting Kit for a Lil Rocker on a 2007 Chevy Silverado New Body 6.5ft Bed
  • Yes. The RBW Lil Rocker 5th wheel hitch fits in industry standard above the bed rails. I recommend the rails included with Reese installation mounting kit # RP50064-58, this will work great for your 2007 Chevy Silverado 1500 6-1/2ft bed truck. The rails and mounting kit you were looking at # RP30035 will also fit but requires drilling where the one I've recommended does not. I have linked both parts to this page for your convenience.

  • Towing a 5th Wheel Trailer with Factory Gooseneck Hitch in a 2006 Ford F-350
  • I don't know who made the OEM gooseneck hitch for Ford in 2006 but you will be able to tow a 5th wheel trailer without having to add a different hitch. There are adapters that you can use instead. For example one of the more popular options is the Anderson Ranch Hitch, # AM3100. I have linked a video review of this adapter for you. Another option is to use a Reese Goose Box. There are a few different ones available and they fit specific 5th wheel trailer pin boxes: # RP85FR fits

  • Where to Locate Fifth Wheel Rails in Bed of 2003 GMC Sierra 1500HD 6-1/2 ft Bed
  • The Husky part CP07054 is actually a fifth wheel hitch and not a rail kit. If you wanted to install a universal rail kit like the part # RP30035 in your truck I can help with the needed dimensions for that though. From the rear edge of the truck bed to the rear edge of the rear rail will measure 25-1/8 inches. You would then use the hitch to locate the front rail once you have placed the rear rail. This ensures that the hitch fits as smoothly as possible.

  • Installing Reese RP30035 5th Wheel Install Rails in 1996 Ford F-350
  • Reese doesn't provide that particular measurement, but I'd be happy to help you to place those rails in the correct position. To correctly place the bed rails, the rear edge of the rear-most rail is placed so that it is 32-1/2 inches forward of the rear edge of the truck bed (the rear edge of the bed, not the tailgate). I've provided the page from the instructions that shows exactly how the rear rail is placed. Once the correct location for the rear rail is marked and the rear rail
