Reese 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch w/ Round Tube Slider - Dual Jaw - 16,000 lbs
part number: RP30075

Fifth-wheel trailer hitch provides excellent jaw-to-king-pin contact with a 2-jaw latching system. Non-binding, round-tube slider helps to eliminate clearance concerns during slow-speed turns. Rails and installation kit sold separately.

Features:

  • 2-Jaw locking system provides more jaw-to-king-pin contact than slide-bar models
    • Less rattle
    • Greater security
  • Round-tube slider provides clearance required for your short-bed pickup to turn safely at slow speeds
    • Prevents trailer from hitting the cab of your pickup during sharp, slow-speed turns
    • Inhibits binding and provides smooth operation
  • 4-Way pivoting head eases hookup on unlevel ground
  • 3" Height adjustment
  • Wide stance offers excellent stability
  • Black powder coat finish resists corrosion
  • Locking handle has cushioned grip
  • Above-bed rails and mounting kit sold separately
    • Fits Curt, Valley, Draw-Tite, Hidden-Hitch and Reese base rails
    • Cut installation time in half by using a vehicle-specific bracket kit instead of the universal kit

Specs:

  • Gross towing weight: 16,000 lbs
  • Vertical load limit: 4,000 lbs
  • Installed hitch height (including rails): 15" - 18"
  • Travel: 11" front to back
  • 5-Year limited warranty

Note: This fifth-wheel trailer hitch will not fit pickups with beds shorter than 6'. It also will not fit trucks with flareside/stepside bed. A minimum 13" extended trailer pin box is recommended. If using a slider, hitch will not adjust to lowest height setting.

Reese Double Jaw

Secure, 2-Piece Jaw

Unlike the more economical slide-bar models, the rounded, 2-piece jaw on this fifth-wheel trailer hitch inhibits rattle and movement by securely wrapping around your trailer's king pin, resulting in easier hookup and a safer, quieter ride.

Round-Tube Slider

Most often used on trucks with 6' beds, this roller helps to eliminate clearance problems during slow-speed turns. When you are towing a fifth-wheel trailer, your hitch must be situated on the cab side of your truck's rear axle. However, at slow speeds you can use a roller to slide the fifth-wheel hitch (and the trailer) toward your truck's tailgate and past the rear axle, creating enough space between the cab of your truck and the trailer to permit less-restricted turning.

Was looking for a bolt on kit for bare frame rails for a hotshot truck. These require support in the middle (at least one center bolt in each rail). Ended up having a fabricator weld a plate for support and mount the rails to that. But I guess that's reasonable for a universal kit.

This hitch has a feature or two we didn't even expect. It was an easy install and is performing great. Plenty of maneuverability and rock stable. etrailer's service was incredible and stayed on top of the delivery until we got it. We thought they went the second mile to make sure we got our hitch.

Best value for the money! I have used this hitch for a season now and I must say, it's worked out great. I use a Teflon plate with it and this hitch doesn't have much play in it going down the road. I have not had any issues with it sliding when locked.

Worked perfect used with airlift AL57298. Didn’t see any picture of universal rails and air bag kit working togther.

I am very impressed with the fit and finish. Packaging from etrailer.com was inadequate. UPS man unloaded the package, rang the doorbell and drove away before I got outside. There was a lock washer laying on the ground and a bracket was hanging out of the box. We opened the package and inventoried everything, and to my amazement everything was there. Ordering process was very easy and my order shipped quickly. While on my lunch break at work I added 6 items to my cart and printed it so I could complete the order when I got home. About 4 hours later 3 of the 6 items increased in price. This hitch increased in price by $2, not a big deal I guess. I was able to find this item about $12 cheaper at another retailer and I provided this information to etrailer.com. Within a few hours they refunded me 110% of the difference. I am installing this on a 2002 Dodge Ram 1500 short bed and the instructions are lacking. Maybe a professional installer who has done this many times would not have any problems, but the instructions leave some things to your imagination.

Working great after one year of use. Use it to tow a 30 gooseneck trailer and it has worked as advertised. I bought a used 5th wheel hitch and although I have never used it, it fits perfectly in the rail system.

The kit arrived very quickly, in fact shipping was moved from "5 to 7 days" to "3 to 5 days"and arrived in 5 day. During Christmas rush this was great, and really appreciated. I ask a technician friend to install it for me. It went together very nicely.

I am rating this as EXCELLENT, do to the ease of installation an the escallation of the shipping arrangement. Thank You for a great product and great service.

2015 Ford F-150

Installed these rails with the short bed Reese bracket kit for 2015 or newer f150. Installation went well. Instructions were pretty straight forward but measurements from end of bed were not quite right and put the rails too far forward of the underbed brackets by about 2". I actually measured off the cross rails under the bed of the truck after I had installed the brackets.

Helpful hint: after getting a hole drilled on either side of the front rail to secure it to brackets under bed, put the hitch on both rails which will line up the rear rail exactly right then drill the rest of your mounting holes.

The included spacers are not quite thick enough and have come out from between the rails and bottom of the bed a few times even after I tightened bolts so much, bed started to bend. Have to find some other Shem's to make it tight enough.

I would recommend these rails eventhough it took a little bit to get them in the right location.

PS - Be very careful when drilling holes on driver side as you are right over the gas tank.

I sent an email and was very pleased to get a response the next day, It was a universal kit RP30035, I had to make spacers for 3 of the frame brackets, the gaps were all over the map no matter how much I squared it up, all in all I'm pleased.

I've had this system installed in my 1996 Ford F150 for a year now. I did the installation myself and found it to be relatively easy. I had to remove the rear tires to give better access to the frame, but after I did that drilling the needed holes and bolting in the brackets was straight foward. I use these rails with a gooseneck plate and have had no trouble pulling anything yet.

2006 Chevrolet Silverado

Original package was damaged by UPS somewhere during transport and delivery. etrailer made it very easy to get the missing part (smaller mounting bracket fell out of box somewhere) and instead of just sending the one part they re sent the bolt kit, all four mounting brackets, and a new pull cord. So basically the entire assembly other than the base rails. Could’nt be happier and will post pictures as soon as it’s installed

I installed this kit in my 2006 Silverado 2500HD to hold a Reese 16k sliding hitch. The kit is very well built and had more parts than required to complete the installation. Once installed, works great and am very pleased!

The work itself is cumbersome and a couple things to be aware of. First, I squared and centered the rails as required. Before I drilled in the bed, I set the hitch in the rails and they moved slightly and had to recenter. This only tops a few minutes but I recommend setting the hitch in the rails before drilling. Second, the alignment for the front chassis brackets was challenging. You have to drill the bottom two bolt holes to ensure you can get a wrench in the nuts as the frame is enclosed there and reaching around the tank and brake lines. The instructions were not specific as to which holes to drill.

Great 5th wheel trailer hitch product. Great customer service.

by: Cindy B08/11/2016

purchased just the rails for 5th wheel receiver as we bought a used camper and the Reese Easy Loader came with it but owner did not want to remove rails from their truck. Technician was excellent in helping with installation and emailed us directions specific to my truck. Shipping was quick and install went well. We had room to use 12 bolts vs 10 so we did. We did install 1" forward in bed as we had room to do it. Better more forward when hauling. The knurled bolts were too short for our truck bed and we called and let them know. We had our own that were longer so no delay in install.

Fantastic!! In fact we just removed the hitch for the first time and rails are no issue in truck bed. Easy ineasy out after rails installed.

by: E.P.08/22/2017

Installation went as printed, took two of us 4 hrs. instead of 2, but I am a perfection freak, centered within 1/32" . Have not used it yet, but will be shortly. Installed to specs provided. Will purchase next hitch from etrailer, Did not call for help, but good to know they were there if needed.

by: Gerald 03/17/2021

once i finally got the bottom platform to fit it went together quite well. It is really heavy for a 74 year old to wrestle around but i have a 40 year old son to help. Have never had to slide it back to back the fifth wheel up but have not had any close quarters to deal with. I would imagine that one of these made out of aluminum would be really expensive and probably not as strong.

by: Josh S. 10/31/2016

Product is as it was described. Straight forward installation. Only problem I had was minor shipping damage. The ear of the 5th wheel plate was bent from it being dropped I would guess. Better packaging would've solved this...

  • Nice truck! I hope you enjoy your road trips. We do not offer any auto-slider 5th wheel hitches but we do have many standard sliding hitch options from Pro Series, Reese and B&W. Even better, since your truck has the factory prep package you have the option to use a fixed hitch like B&W # BWRVK3600 along with a Sidewinder replacement pin box. This hitch fits right into your factory pucks. This type of set-up provides much better turning clearance than any slider. This is the case because

  • Does the locking handle move from the locked to the unlocked position or is there only a small amount of movement like there is some play in the slider? If the locking handle is moving from the locked to unlocked position, then either the handle is not engaging in the locking position completely or there is something wrong with the internal components and the legs should be replaced. If you are seeing a small amount of movement, then that is normal. Inside each leg is a leaf spring

This is a great solution for truck beds that are between 6 and 8 feet in length. If the bed is shorter than that a Sidewinder pin box is the best way to get the needed clearance. • There is one fifth wheel hitch and rail kit option for your 1997 Ford F-250 short bed that would be a no-drill solution that would be custom fit for your truck frame. It's actually the nicest setup around too so I know you would be happy with it. The B and W rail kit part # BWGNRK1100-5W has been confirmed as a fit for your truck. It doesn't require drilling and it doubles as a gooseneck hitch so I would highly recommend it. Then for a hitch the B and W Companion Slider part # BWRVK3400-5W

  • Rails and Brackets For Installing 5TH Wheel Rails On a 1996 Ford F-350 Long Bed
  • I recommend installing the Reese Universal Base Rails and Installation Kit # RP30035 on your 1996 Ford F-350 long bed. These use universal mounting brackets as there are no custom fit mounting brackets for your truck due to the age of the truck. The universal brackets will require you to drill into your frame to install the mounts. This kit will include all the hardware needed to install the rails so you will be able to use your 15K Reese 5th wheel hitch.

  • Will Reese 5th Wheel Slider Trailer Hitch 30047A Fit Install Kit 30035 on 2001 Chevy Silverado 2500
  • Yes, your Reese 5th wheel slider hitch 30047A fits in industry standard rails which is what is included with installation kit # RP30035. I have linked the instructions for the installation kit for you. If you wanted to go with a custom fit installation kit use # RP50064-58. The hitch will also fit these rails and custom kits require much less drilling compared to the universal kit and they install faster as well. I have linked a video showing installation of the custom kit for you.

  • Installing Reese Universal 5th Wheel Base Rail Kit # RP30035 in 1999 GMC K3500 7.4l Gas Pickup
  • The Reese Universal 5th Wheel Base Rail Kit # RP30035 is the correct install kit for both long and short bed versions of your truck. Since this is a universal-fit kit intended to work with a broad range of vehicles there will be some variances in how the L-brackets fit. My contact at Reese confirmed that this kit is a correct fit for your truck. If your truck has a body lift of any amount this will affect the effective length of the brackets where they attach to the frame and truck

  • Where to Install Base Rails on 1997 Dodge Ram 2500
  • To use a 5th wheel hitch with your 1997 Dodge Ram 2500 you'll need a base rail kit which installs in a specific area that you'll find in the instructions. If you don't already have a base rail kit then I recommend using the Reese Universal Base Rails and Installation Kit # RP30035. You will place the back side of the rear rail 28-7/16" from the back edge of your bed for a short bed or 32-7/16" from the back edge of your bed for a long bed. This will put the approximate king pin location

  • Fifth Wheel Rail Kit Recommendation for a 1992 Ford F-350
  • Your best option is going to be to go with the Reese Universal fifth wheel rail kit part # RP30035 that you referenced. It looks like your older rails are the industry standard dimension rails that most fifth wheel rails will fit in, but we can't recommend a bracket kit for an unknown set of base rails. Especially one as old as yours. We cannot recommend them because there have been several fit issues between base rails and frame brackets between manufacturers.

  • 5th Wheel Installation Kit Needed for a 1972 Chevrolet Truck with a Valley Pull Maxx 16K Hitch
  • The Valley Pull Maxx 16K fifth wheel hitch uses the standard above bed base rails, so you may be able to use a universal fifth wheel install kit like part # RP30035. The base rails included with this kit are compatible with Curt, Draw-Tite, Hidden Hitch, Reese, Valley and Husky hitches that use the above-bed base rails. Our universal fifth wheel install kits have not been tested on any trucks older than 1973, so you may need to make modifications to the frame brackets or truck bed to

  • Distance From Rear of Bed to Base Rail When Installing Reese Universal Rails on 2007 Ram 2500
  • The Reese Universal Base Rails and Installation Kit # RP30035 referenced in your question will work on your 2007 Ram 2500 as long as it does not feature the overload brackets. If your truck has overload springs, you will need to add the Mounting Bracket Kit # RP58186. When installing the rails on your short bed truck, there will be a distance of 26-5/16 inches from the rear edge of the truck bed to the rear edge of the base rail. I have attached the complete written installation instructions

  • Recommended Fifth Wheel Installation Kit for 2014 Dodge Ram 3500
  • For your 2014 Dodge Ram 3500 Pickup I recommend the Reese Fifth Wheel Installation Kit, part # RP56010-53. This is a custom installation that will cut the installation time in half when compared to universal installation kits. The custom brackets mount to the existing holes in the frame of your truck and minimize cutting and drilling and measuring. This kit includes under-bed brackets, installation hardware and industry-standard base rails that will work with hitches from Curt, Draw-Tite,

  • Reese Slider Hitch and Rail Kit Recommendation for a 2008 Chevy Silverado 1500
  • Since you have a short bed truck you are going to want a hitch that has a slider to give you the clearance to make 90 degree turns. The first thing you are going to need is a rail kit. This provides the attachment point for the hitch to your vehicle. For that I would recommend the Reese Quick-Install Custom Base Rails and Installation Kit # RP50064-58. This is a custom installation kit that will install in about half the time as a universal kit and will minimize drilling when compared

  • Generator Recommendation for Powering to Air Conditioner Units on an RV
  • Universal fifth wheel rail kits like the part # RP30035 use industry standard rail dimensions which means the Curt Q20 part # C16130 as well as most other fifth wheel hitches will fit it. It is possible to lift the trailer. You can do this by moving the axles from being above the leaf springs to below the leaf springs. The diameter of your trailer axle will determine the size of the parts that you will need to order. If your axle is 3 inches diameter, the Dexter Trailer Springs Over-Under

  • 5th Wheel Base Rail Installation Kit for 2003 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 4X4 Quad Cab
  • Although 5th wheel rails are standardized, it is best to NOT mix brands of 5th wheel installation components, such as the base rails from one maker with the under-bed frame brackets of another maker. The reason is that sometimes they will not fit together as easily as a complete new kit from one brand. To save you that potential delay and headache I suggest installing a complete new kit from the brand of your choice. You can see all 5th wheel install kits for your truck on the page I
