The pivoting blade makes this plow ideal for rocky or uneven surfaces because it can adjust to the terrain.

Simple, Hitch-Mounted Installation

This hitch-mounted snowplow simply slides into your vehicle's front trailer hitch receiver, making it a breeze to install. A plow that attaches to custom-fit brackets ties you down to just 1 vehicle. But this hitch-mounted plow can be used on most trucks or SUVs with a 2" x 2" front-mounted hitch. As a result, this plow can be easily switched between multiple vehicles. And because it offers a nearly universal fit, you won't have to buy a new plow when you replace your old vehicle.

To install the snowplow, just slide the shank of the plow assembly into your 2" trailer hitch receiver (sold separately). Then use a pin and clip or a hitch lock (sold separately) to secure the plow in the receiver.

The snowplow comes with flip-down caster wheels that make the installation process even easier on you. Simply flip the wheels into position and you will be able to roll the plow into position for mounting or storage. The height of the wheels can also be adjusted to match the height of your vehicle.

How to Plow

Once the plow is mounted on your vehicle, lower the blade and set it to the desired angle. To set the angle, exit the vehicle and manually position the plow straight ahead, to the left, or to the right. Angling the blade allows you to push snow off to the side where you want it without having to change the angle of your entire vehicle. This is especially useful on a driveway or a private roadway where piling the snow straight ahead would create a barrier.

The plow comes with a wireless remote that allows you to stay warm and out of the elements while still effectively controlling the plow. The remote operates on a 2.4 GHz frequency, allowing it to quickly send signals to the winch without experiencing delays. And because it's wireless, you won't have to run wires through your dash. Nor will you have to leave your window cracked open in the middle of a snow storm just so that you can run a wired remote into your cab. You will be glad to have it on those cold winter days.

To begin plowing, just drive forward. When backing up to take another pass, be sure to lift the plow with the remote, then lower it again before moving forward. When approaching a large pile of snow, be sure to decrease your speed. Slamming into a pile of snow can void the warranty on the snowplow.

When you are finished, put your vehicle in park and lower the plow. Remove the plow from your vehicle after every use.

Easy Lifting with Electric Winch

The electric winch on this plow allows you to easily lift and lower the blade using the wireless remote control. If you prefer, you can also install the included in-cab toggle switch to control the plow. The winch uses a durable strap, which is much quieter than a chain, to raise and lower the plow.

Detail K2 Features

The snowplow features skid shoes that allow you to adjust the height of your plow. This allows you to efficiently plow over surfaces that are uneven, such as gravel roads.

Blade stiffeners, or blade support brackets, reinforce the connection between the plow and your vehicle. They add 2 additional points of contact with your hitch on either side of the plow's T-frame. This prevents stress on the frame and on your vehicle, while also strengthening the performance of the plow.

2003 Chevrolet Silverado 1500

Decent plow for the price.

I installed this DK2 Avalanche on a 2003 GMC Yukon 1500 with a Curt front receiver hitch 31302. If you have a side mount battery, you may need battery bolt extenders (Battery Doctor #30400) to make life easier. That said, the ring terminal connectors on the winch control box will be too small. Get ones that will fit the 3/8 inch stud and 12-10 AWG wire to replace the stock ones.

Manufacturer instructions are not very helpful, but Graz's Garage has a great install video on YouTube. He installed his on a 2020 Chevy Colorado Z71. You can always count on a gearhead from Detroit. eTrailer is awesome at responding to concerns, too, and I'm glad I bought this product from them.1221734

Of the many hitch receivers I have purchased, the front mounted ones have never failed to surprise me of their usefulness! From bike racks, to carrier for coolers, to my chainsaws, gas and oil, they make it work. Recently while cutting wood for a hunting lease engagement, I put a second ball on the front and used it to drive a 16' trailer up a hill to get the wood where it was needed for offloading. Backing it up had resulting in damaged trucks, trailers and numerous attempts. Using the front hitch it was a one and done deal! Love it! I have even used it to pull trees over when felling. I don't have enough fingers and toes to count the uses! If you have ever thought about it, just stop and order! You won't regret it!1414170

2005 GMC Sierra

This hitch was very easy to install....I had to trim the lower air dam to fit around the receiver and that gives it a clean neat look.
I didn't like that I had to remove and leave the shields around the tow hooks off. But overall I'm very pleased.
I plan to use this hitch for maneuvering a camper in a narrow spot beside my home, and for a bike rack when towing a camper.

2003 Chevrolet Silverado 1500

I gave this hits only 4 stars since all of the available information indicated it would bolt right on to my 2003 Avalanche 1500 (All Models) with no modification, but it wasn't quite that simple. First off, my Avalanche has the plastic cladding. The end brackets of the hitch push the bottom of the air dam under the bumper down a bit and make it bow out. I had to remove the bracket that secured the air dam to the center of the frame. I mounted the hitch in the upper position since I didn't want it to be so low, and the receiver ends up being 8" back from the bumper facia. I had to order an 8" extension to bring it out past the bumper. Other than that, I'm happy with the hitch. I just wish the fitment guide was a little more specific.75440

Since I installed the hitch in the upper position, I had to cut a hole through the claddingbumper. This came out near the bottom of the license plate recess. I then use the 8 extension if needed. This brings the receiver out in front of the bumper.

2006 Chevrolet Silverado

I have a 2006 Silverado 2wd LD truck and mounted a curt front trailer hitch ... I mounted both side plates first without tighten down.. I then mounted the 2" receiver section ... Tightened that down then,finished cranking down side brackets !!!!! Done !!!! However I did have to cut the backside of the tow hooks facia plastic with a jig saw no problem ... I never cut into the cup portion I just cut some of the extra plastic in the back off DONE !!!!!!!177776

The shipping was quick. Installed easily. The hitch is visible just below the fascia at the bottom of the bumper. I had a front hitch on my previous truck (Tacoma); also from etrailer. I use the front hitch to move my travel trailer into tight spaces.

Originally, with this recent purchase, I had purchased the incorrect item. All it took was an email from the staff at etrailer. The email contained product return instructions along with an RGA#. I just returned yesterday. This extra customer service made the return process quite simple.

With all my needs regarding hitches, etc. I will always check etrailer first.

I can’t address the installation as the box arrived torn and some of the nuts and bolts were rattling in the box. Now I have to wait for the missing hardware. The hitch itself looks to be high quality and you would think that quality packaging would be a priority. All it would take is a heavy plastic bag wrapped in cardboard to protect the bag of hardware from ripping open in transit.448169

Plow seems to be of good quality, wont know till I actually use it, how good it is. Seems sturdy enough to do the job, assembly was very straight forward.
My only complaint is etrailer left me dangling for a month with no updates on my order status, even after chatting with one of their customer service people.
