The rack is much bigger than my previous one. I was disappointed that it was made in China instead of the USA. It assembled very easily and the light kit works very well. The only draw back is I can no longer open my tailgate with the rack installed due to the spare tire hitting the raised rack.
The carrier was exactly what I was expecting. High quality, powder coated, and heavy duty. This will allow me to transport my mower, pressure washer, cooler, and anything that I do not want inside my Jeep. I would highly recommend this to anyone.

17x46 Curt Cargo Carrier for 1-1/4" and 2" Hitches - Steel - 500 lbs
I've been using this Cargo Carrier on my 4 Runner Venture for about a year now. I Purchased this item to haul extra gear to Nags Head from Northwestern Virginia. Installation was a breeze and it's very, very sturdy. I had two Yeti coolers packed with ice and drinks and there was no wobbling at all. I'm a 197 pounds and I was standing on it after I installed it just to check for durability and this thing is a beast. I also used this as a rod holder while on the beach and I caught a 6 foot black tip shark. Overall, I'm very pleased with this item and I would recommend to a friend.
This is a substantial, well-made product at exactly the size I needed - smaller than many, and with sides that keep items secure. It was very easy to assemble, with all parts included and clearly sorted, and with all pieces manufactured to cleanly align. We just installed our carrier. We love that this is going to free up a lot of space for our vacation traveling. Very heavy duty and bigger than i was thinking it would be.The pin that holds the carrier in the hitch was not included. It would have been an added bonus if it was.
This cargo carrier fits perfectly behind my 2023 CR-V. I use it for hauling bags of grass to the yard waste. It is almost a two person job inserting it into the receiver though. Seems well made and well finished.

Purchased this 1 year ago. Worked awesome for a 9.000 mile cross country trip with three off road adventures at geology tour road Joshua tree, west side road Death Valley, and kingman wash lake mead. No rattle, always secure, great clearance. Would purchase again.
It works, but I only put two electric bikes on it. The mesh seems to bend pretty easy.

Great quality and serves its purpose. I wish I ordered the slightly bigger one to fit the bins and items I use it for. For example, a white standard igloo cooler doesn’t fit the way I need it to maximize loading capacity. I highly recommend a stabilizer to prevent wobble.
Very nice quality. Took one person and two wrench about 15 minutes to install the cargo carrier from box. It is very sturdy and the finish is very good. I really like the added height this specific carrier provides.

24x60 etrailer Cargo Carrier for 2" Hitches - Steel - Tilting - Folding - 500 lbs
Super disappointed in this etrailer purchase. The product came in a large box that was fully intact and not damaged. The actual cargo basket was meticulously wrapped and appeared to be brand new as expected. The other components however, like the arm, were in boxes that were smashed, old, worn, and had multiple layers of old tape. The arm itself was scratched and banged up, even rusty in spots. Clearly it was used or had been a returned item. If I wanted a dented, gouged,and rusty Cargo Carrier I would have purchased one used, for half the price. This is not the quality I expect from etrailer.. I have purchased many racks and other items from this company and usually the quality is outstanding. This time they dropped the ball. I have since read other reviews and it is apparent that this is not an isolated incident. I'd have sent it back if it wasn't so damn heavy and awkward to lug around.
Holds all my gear. Just what I was hoping for. Now my dogs have the car all to themselves. Really bummed that there are "Made in China" stickers all over it. I went with etrailer because I thought they were a USA company. I guess no one can turn down that cheap slave labor. Hopefully my gear does not end up on the highway.

23x47 Carpod Walled Cargo Carrier for 2" Hitches - Steel - 4" Rise - Folding - 450 lbs
After purchasing a 2018 Honda CR-V Touring, my honey-to-do-task of having to bring trash to the dump every week must be done. I am not a big fan of placing trash inside my new car, despite having a rubber liner. So I purchased the Curt 2 inch receiver hitch and had it installed by my local mechanic. I did not want to have to hook up my small utility trailer to go to the dump since I have to go to work and park in a parking garage after making my trash drop off. I came across this Carpod M2205 walled carrier. I am thrilled with this and like the way it folds up when not in use. There was a simple assembly process to go through after it was received (quick shipping by the way). It is a little heavy placing into the hitch receiver, but note it is easier to place it into the hitch when folded up. I wrapped a piece of duct tape around the exact place of the insertion bar to line up the holes of the hitch pin. Its carrying capacity is well within what I need, and I am quite impressed. There is not much movement of the carrier while driving except for big bumps or potholes. This is an excellent alternative to carrying household garbage inside my new car. The walls are held in place with metal pins and a strap, that is a little short and could be a little bit longer. That would be my only complaint about using this car carrier. Otherwise, I highly recommend this for anyone who needs to carry items outside or to need more space.
I purchased this for a 800-mile round trip vacation to Mammoth Lakes. It greatly extended the amount of luggage and gear we could bring with us, as we head 4 adults and a dog in the car. I could hardly tell the cargo carrier was back there while driving, and it didn't impact my gas mileage at all. I assembled and installed this myself, and it was super easy (although would be easier with a second set of hands.) I also purchased a stretchy net cargo cover, which allowed us to pack above the the actual height of the carrier itself. I attached my license plate to the cargo carrier work zip ties, although I will need to get a bracket with lights for the future of doing nighttime driving. I have no regrets on this purchase and highly recommend!

Today on our 2015 Ford Edge, we're going to be taking a look at the Curt 20x48 cargo carrier, part number C18110. On this particular cargo carrier, something that's really nice is that it's got this nice, heavy duty steal flooring so that whatever dirt and debris they get on here is going to fall through so that way it doesn't collect and get onto the bottom of your cargo. It's got this brace that goes straight across the center and then a nice strong frame that supports it around the outside to give it a 300 pound capacity. Here on the lip, that makes up the wall all the way around, we've got some predrilled tie down points to help make that you can keep your cargo secure on this carrier. Let's take a few measurements. First, well see total distance added to the vehicle. That's going to be about 26 inches. We'll get the closest point to the vehicle which is right about 6 inches.

Today on our 2013 Ford Edge we'll be test fitting the 23x56 Rola Dart Cargo Carrier, part number 59550. To begin our test fit we'll slide the shank of the carrier into the opening of the hitch. We'll line up our hitch pin holes and then thread in our anti-rattle bolt tightening it with a wrench. Now we'll go ahead and go over a few clearance measurements. With the cargo carrier in its folded position we've added about 11 inches to the overall length of our vehicle.To get the other measurements we'll pull the red handle at the top of the carrier to unfold our cargo carrier. At the back of the carrier we have a ground clearance of 14 inches.
CarPod Folding Cargo Carrier Review - 2013 Ford Edge
Today on our 2013 Ford Edge we'll be test fitting the CarPod Folding Cargo Carrier, part number m2205. This CarPod is 24 by 48 inches and it has a walled holding cargo area thats rated at 450 pounds. We'll begin our test fit by sliding the shank of the carrier into the receiver tube of our hitch. We'll line up the hitch pin hole and then we can put the clip and pin on the other side.We'll pull the pin and allow the platform to fold down and then we can reinstall our pin. We can now bring the walls of our CarPod up and use the included pins to pin the walls into place. Now we'll go over some clearance measurements.
Surco Hitch Cargo Carrier Review - 2013 Ford Edge
Today on our 2013 Ford Edge we'll be test fitting the Surco 24 inch by 60 Inch Cargo Carrier, part number 52018. To begin our test fit we'll slide the shank of the carrier into the receiver tube of our hitch. We'll line up the hitch pin holes and secure the carrier with the standard 5/8 inch pin and clip.Now we'll go ahead and go over a few clearance measurements. At the rear of the carrier we have a ground clearance of about 10 inches and we have about one inch from the closest point of the carrier to the closest point of our vehicle. We've added about 26-1/2 inches to the overall length of our vehicle.The exhaust on this vehicle exits both the driver's side and passenger side and is about four and a half inches away from our cargo carrier. When opening our rear hatch door our rear hatch breaks over the cargo carrier at about 22-1/2 inches.

Today on our 2012 Ford Edge we are testing the Carpod Walled Cargo Carrier. The dimensions for the carrier are 23x47 with a weight capacity of 450lbs. Part number for that is M2205. As you can see we do already have all walls up and we're just going to show you how we take the walls down and put it in the store position and also the folding feature. First to take the walls down, we're just going to pull these pins - there is one at each corner, we're just going to pull them out. We're first going to lay down our smaller sides here. You may have to wiggle the larger sides around a little bit just to squeeze the smaller sides in.

Today on our 2012 Ford Edge, we're test fitting the Strong Bird Carlson 23 by 60 cargo carrier. This offers a weight capacity of 500 pounds. They designed it for use with 2 inch hitches. The part number on it is CC-100. As you can see, we've got a stamped out style expanded steel floor, so that's going to give us plenty of room for dirt, debris, and stuff like that to fall down through, but still offers a fairly smooth surface if we're putting more delicate items on it. Overall, this carrier is going to add about 26 inches to the back of our Edge.
Curt Hitch Cargo Carrier Review - 2012 Ford Edge
Today on our 2012 Ford Edge, we're test fitting the Curt 20 by 60 Folding Cargo Carrier. They've designed this for use with with up to 500 pounds and it works great. Pretty much specifically designed for use in 2-inch hitches. Part number on it is C18151. As you can see we're going to have an expanded steel floor here on the bottom. Plenty of area for that dirt and stuff to fall out, but still gives us a nice smooth surface. It doesn't have those cutting edges you get out of the typical expanded steel.

Lets Go Aero Hitch Cargo Carrier Review - 2012 Ford Edge
Today on our 2012 Ford Edge, we are test fitting the Let Go Aero GearCage, part number HCR222. This cargo carrier has the dimensions of 48 x 32, with a capacity to hold up to 300 pounds. As you can see, this has a nice solid floor here which is going to keep any dirt and debris from flying up onto your material that you have in the carrier. This also means that if do carry anything that has dirt on it, it's not going to fall off on the side. First we are going to take some measurements here. Today on our 2012 Ford Edge we're test fitting the Curt 24 by 60 folding cargo carrier. Part number C18153. This cargo carrier has a capacity to hold up to 500 pounds, just be aware of that, and also be aware that you have to check your owners manual to make sure your vehicle can carry that itself. The first thing we're going to going to do, is we're going to take some measurements on this carrier. We're going to do ground clearance first, it's going to be about 14 inches there. That is because of the raised shank up here.
Detail K2 20x60 Hitch Cargo Carrier Review - 2012 Ford Edge
Today on our 2012 Ford Edge, we're test fitting the Detail K2 20x60 folding cargo carrier. Now this has a capacity of up to 500 pounds and it's designed to work with 2 inch hitches. Part number on it is K2HCC602. You see we've got a nice, raised edge that's going to go all the way around our carrier here. It's about 5 1/2 inches off our platform, so it gives us good side to side and front to back stability. We're also going to have good connection points all the way around for any straps that we might want to put on. The platform itself is a stamped out style of expanded steel. We don't have the rough edges as we move our hand across it, but we still get plenty of areas for dirt and debris and stuff like that to fall right out.
UWS Aluminum Cargo Carrier Review - 2012 Ford Edge
Today on our 2012 Ford Edge, we'll be test fitting the 23x51 Aluminum Cargo Carrier for 2-inch hitches by UWS. This is part number UWS03511. Now, all we'll need to do to fit this cargo carrier to this vehicle is simply slide the cargo carrier shank into the hitch, line up the hitch pin hole, and install the hitch pin. With the pin in, we'll go ahead and install the safety clip on the other side. And that will do it, our cargo carrier is secured to the vehicle. Now, we'll go ahead and give you a few measurements.
