My Thule cargo basket has a real slick yet sturdy design. Strong, loads of space, good finish, and more tie down points than I have ratchet straps. Takes my Outback from being a boring family wagon to a cool trekking machine. While I did encounter initial issues with parts fit, etrailer was immediately responsive and took care to ensure it all worked out. Genuine five stars for service, thank you etrailer!

Thule Pulse Large Rooftop Cargo Box - 16 cu ft - Matte Black
I purchased this cargo carrier about a year ago. I’ve taken it on 5-6 road trips covering multiple states in all kinds of weather. This rack has remained stable and I really like that you cannot leave it open without the key, which works well to ensure I don’t lose it. However, I gave the carrier a 4 as the rubber seal has come off a few times at the far attachment site and I have had a small amount of water get inside the carrier while traveling.
Love this Rooftop box! It's easy to install & remove, and very secure. It compliments our Outback, as well, in appearance.

WELL WORTH THE EXTRA FEW $$$ I bought a Hidden Hitch for my Subaru Outback so I wouldn't be bashing folks shins. Problem is, with a regular basket, you have to crawl under to get the pin in. With this raised basket it is MUCH EASIER. It is also nice that it is custom cut for tail lights when I want to go that route. If you have a Class2 hitch - THIS IS THE BASKET TO BUY.

Nice looking carrier and holds a good amount of cargo. It would be nice to have a better mounting system that does not interfere with the bottom of the carrier. Overall, it fit our needs well.

The rack is excellent, sturdy, just what I wanted. The order and delivery process were superb. I think e-trailer has excellent service. My only minor complaint is that the assembly instructions could be much better. Simply a few pictures, with no words is not really adequate. e-trailer's video helped a bit, but still putting some of the minor pieces together takes more guesstimates and multiple tries.

Yakima OffGrid Roof Cargo Basket - Steel - 44" Long x 40" Wide - 165 lbs
The Yakima OffGrid medium rack arrived yesterday at about 10:30 a.m. It was fully unpacked/assembled/installed by about 11:45. etrailer did a fine job of communicating/pricing/delivering and supporting this good product. I've been using Yakima products (and others) for biking, paddling, fishing etc. for about 45 years. This rack is a serious solution to a variety of uses of a roof rack. I will be able to use it on various vehicles and for a number of applications (sports, chores,travel etc.) It has more flexibility than most racks and I can't imagine a more durable, quality design. My particular needs, being in my "Dotage", are met by the ability to remove the cross bars and fairing for an open platform, or keep them on and custom fit to a spare tire, or bike rack, kayak rack etc. The attaching mechanisms drew my attention. I put this on the car with solo and with caution using a protective mat. It is very manageable and easy to fit. These mechanisms for tightening down on the crossbars bring the added value (and cost) to folks like me that don't want to spend a lot of time and effort installing a rooftop rack. I wanted secure, solid attachment with simplicity. The OffGrid delivers! No pain killers needed after the install! This "Medium" OffGrid is more than adequate for my initial uses. The internal and external dimensions are pretty much ideal for this 2017 Sienna. A full size spare tire will fit just right. A nice fit for a canoe as well. I admit to scouring the internet and considering dozens of products from baskets to platforms and this OffGrid showed a lot of promise. Its versatility and ruggedness competes with the best designs at about half the price of many. My thoughts included the extension bracket, but the medium OffGrid really does meet most of my expectations and needs for various applications. Now, to the matter of noise. There is wind noise. However, for me, it simply blends into the symphony of white noise that comes with highway travel (and the ringing in my ears) :)......Of all the racks, bikes, canoes,kayaks ladders, lumber, etc., etc. that I have carried on car tops, the wind sounds of this carrier are negligible. The fairing is a nice, well thought out feature that works well. So, my five star rating is for both the product and the vendor. Once again "eTrailer" has proven themselves to be one of the best sources of such products nationwide. Their product information efforts are an industry leader and they deserve credit for providing extremely helpful product reviews and explanations. That's what got me to choose them on this purchase. Those of us well into our "Dotage" appreciate learning all we can!

Yakima RocketBox Pro 14 Rooftop Cargo Box - 14 cu ft - Black
I've taken one 1500 mile trip so far with the Yakima RocketBox Pro 14 mounted on my RAV4. I found the box to be quiet and not to have much impact on gas mileage. I lost maybe 1 mpg with it mounted to my flush mounted Whisperbars. I drove through some very heavy rain and had a minimal amount of water inside under a thin rubber mat I had placed on the bottom of the box; none on my luggage got wet. This box works great to give me more carrying capacity when traveling with my two crated Dobermans.
Pretty good. The locking mech is a little funky but it swallows the beach chairs and other sandy stuff no problem. Make sure you watch the videos Yakima has on YouTube. They are very helpful for first timers. I found that if you use the Yakima website to get the part list right you can order wherever you want. Yup can even pull into the garage. My only gripe is that etrailer showed all parts in stock but several pieces were actually back ordered. Luckily everything arrived in time for my trip.

Customer service was excellent and shipping was right on time. I use this cargo holder to transport a large dog crate and a grooming table across the country. I've found this to be more than up to the challenge of not only holding what I need but when mounting and dismounting the carrier. I carry a small stepladder in my car to assist me. It only takes me 5 minutes to mount or dismount this unit from my Outback. Caution...It's a bit awkward to carry this alone into the garage or out to the car due to car the size of the unit, not the weight. Just plan ahead and you'll be ok.

Easy to open and close. Holds a great deal of materials. Only challenge is blocking of satellite radio antenna when headed South. On a 2019 Subaru Outback wagon. No issue with full opening of rear hatch.

19x47 Curt Cargo Carrier for 1-1/4" and 2" Hitches - Steel - 300 lbs
i purchased this last week to help keep the inside of my Outback clean. my husband put it together while watching tv, so assembly was easy. so far it has been used to take yard debris to the transfer station and to pick up bags of gravel and top soil. it seems very sturdy as long as you tighten the bolt with a ratchet--otherwise it is a little wobbly. we have an old thule bike rack with the same issue, so we keep a ratchet in the car. it does not weigh too much, so storage and on-and-off is easy.
Excellent value and utility. Clear and easy instructions. Assembly was quick. Great that it fits on both a 1-1/4 or 2-inch hitch. The accompanying threaded hitch pin keeps carrier wiggle free. Only suggestions—Secure bright orange poles (or other hitch aligner sticks) on back ends so you see them in your rear view mirror and drivers behind you are alerted to your extension. I bolted mine on through a side hole and used a cable tie to keep them from rotating. And for those concerned, get a short cable lock for security. Thread it through the receiver chain slots and one of the side holes of the cargo carrier.

SportRack Vista XL Cargo Box - Roof Mount - 18 cu ft - Black
Our SportRack cargo box has worked as hoped / advertised since we bought it over a year ago. What initially attracted me to this particular product was the size and design - it holds A LOT, and the way it opens from the back has helped protect our stuff from getting wet and damaged.
The sportrack vista xl is great! This was our first attempt at a roof mounted cargo box and it has preformed exceprionally well! I purchased this as a gift for my wife, to go on her Subaru Crosstrek. We live in western NC, and have used this to go to the outer banks of NC, eastern Tennessee, and even to bring home supplies from Sam's Club! It's super easy and quick to install, even for one person, and we've been fortunate enough to not have a single leak yet; even though we've been through heavy downpours! And there's plenty of room! This roof box is very sleek in design and I love how low it sits. Everything is wonderful with it; it can fit all my camping gear despite being a slimmer model. I gave it four stars because one of the powerclick clamps that it came with fell apart only after 3 uses and now i’m going to have to drop another $70+ for a replacement. Other than that, I would recommend this item.

Hi everyone, Aidan here with etrailer. Today we're gonna be taking a look at the Yakima SkyBox NX 16 rooftop box and seeing how it fits on our 2022 Subaru Outback Wagon. So one thing I do wanna note is that this roof box does work with your factory bars. That's how we have it installed today. You can totally use it with aftermarket crossbars if you have those too. But since your Outback probably is gonna come with factory raised rails and these factory crossbars it is important to know that it fits because a lot of crossbars from the factory are a lot thinner and sometimes don't work with as many accessories.

So I do wanna point out right away that we are using this with factory crossbars. That's pretty important to note because sometimes factory crossbars will have a lower weight capacity than aftermarket ones and generally they're gonna be a lot smaller, so fitting certain accessories is going to be a bit more difficult. So if something works with factory crossbars which a lot of these Subarus have, it's good to know because you wanna make sure the accessory you're looking at works with those. Now it's gonna work just fine with aftermarket crossbars too, pretty much anything will but with these ones you wanna know that it's working with those.

The Skinny Warrior fits nicely on your Subaru factory roof rack, that's what we're using today. Now the one thing is that since there's not a much overhang, there's not a lot of space up here on the roof rack, but you can see the Skinny Warrior fits up there with room to spare, So it's nice that it doesn't take up that much space and the open space on this side over here, you could add probably a bike rack on there, or maybe a ski care or something like that, that way you can maximize the capacity of your roof. All things metal, black powder-coated steel, so you don't have to worry about if you want to just leave it on your roof all the time, it's going to be all right, the elements aren't going to bother it. Now it mounts with these clamps here, and they go, so what you do is the hand knobs and you just loosen this.
