The exterior dimensions of the Thule Vector Alpine list it at 35 inches wide, but the interior dimensions list 25 1/8 inches wide. How do you lose 10 inches of interior width? I’m trying to determine which rooftop box I could fit a spare tire in measuring 28.5 inches wide by 9 inches tall. Considering the Thule Vector M, Vector Alpine, or the Motion XT Alpine.

The Thule Motion XT Alpine Rooftop Cargo Box part # TH629506 has internal dimensions of 33" wide x 11-1/4" tall so it will work great with your spare tire. If you're looking for more cost effective options I'd recommend the Trunx Rooftop Cargo Box part # TRX34FR or even the Yakima LoadWarrior Roof Rack Cargo Basket part # Y07070 with Spare Tire Carrier for Yakima Roof Cargo Baskets part # Y07076.
