Curt Hitch Cargo Carrier Review - 2015 Ford Explorer

Today on our 2015 Ford Explorer we're doing a test fit of the CURT 20 by 48 cargo carrier. That part number is C18110. Now this is designed to work with both 1-1/4" and 2" hitches and has a weight capacity of 300 pounds. We already have it installed on our vehicle. We're going to start off with a few measurements. Ground clearance being first, we're going to have about 16-1/2" to the bottom of that bolt there.



Curt Hitch Cargo Carrier Review - 2015 Ford Explorer C18152

Today on our 2015 Ford Explorer we're doing a test fit of the Curt 24x60 Cargo Carrier. That part number is C18152. We already have our carrier installed. We're first going to take a few measurements. We're going to start off with our ground clearance, that's going to be about 16 3/4". Overall to our vehicle, we have about 32 3/4" and our closest point looks to be about 7 1/2" away.

Today on our 2015 Ford Explorer we're doing a test fit of the Rhino Rack roof mounted cargo basket. That part number is RMCB. This is 47 inches long by 35 inches wide and has a 165 pound weight capacity. You do want to check your vehicle's owner's manual, make sure your vehicle can withstand that much weight on it's roof and pick whichever one is lower. Today on this 2015 Ford Explorer we're going to be test fitting the 20x60 Curt Cargo Carrier. Part Number C18151. This has a 500lb weight capacity. Has a nice mesh flooring here which makes it easy to clean. I'm going to go ahead and give you some measurements now. First, is going to be how much distance is added the vehicle once the cargo carrier is installed. I'm going to go ahead and measure from the bumper.



Stromberg Carlson Hitch Cargo Carrier Review - 2015 Ford Explorer

Today on our 2015 Ford Explorer, we're going to do a test fit on the Stromberg Carlson 23 by 60 Cargo Carrier. This has been designed for use in 2 inch hitches and it's made for up to 500 pounds. Part number on it is CC-100. You can see we've got the nice large open holes here on our floor. This is going to give us plenty of room for any of the water and dirt debris to fall right down and out. It's kind of an expanded steel. It's got a nice raised edge, it's going to go all the way around the outside.



MaxxTow Hitch Cargo Carrier Review - 2015 Ford Explorer

Today on our 2015 Ford Explorer, we've got the Maxxtow 21 by 48 cargo carrier rack. We'll see how it fits with the Ford Explorer. Now this carrier has been designed for use in 2-inch hitches. Thanks to the nice full length steel shaft that we have here, it's going to maintain a 500-pound weight capacity. The big deal about this carrier, full aluminum construction with the exception of that shank, nice and light weight. If weight is an issue for you, this would be an excellent choice for a carrier, easy to get it on, easy to get it off of the car. Now, you can see here we've got the slots that are going to run the full length of the carrier.



Lets Go Aero Hitch Cargo Carrier Review - 2015 Ford Explorer

Today in our 2015 Ford Explorer, we've got the Let's Go Aero GearCage out. We're going to fit it up to to the vehicle and see what kind of dimentions we've got in measurements as far as clearance and stuff like that goes. Now this carrier is 32 inches by 48 inches. It's going to offer a 300 pound weight capacity, and it's been designed for use with two inch hitches. A couple things I really like about the carrier; First of all you notice how nice and sturdy that is. It's going to come with an anti-rattle bolt and a clip.

Part number on it is C18150. You see the platform or the floor in the carrier is going to be that expanded mesh or expanded steel. That's going to allow us to put dirty, wet items like that on it and all that moisture, that dirt and debris will fall on down through. It's got a raised edge.

. 2015 Ford Explorer Police Interceptor we're going to be doing a test fit of the Sport Rack Vista cargo carrier. This is going to be your 20 by 60" steel constructed 500 pound weight capacity cargo carrier with your 2" shank for your 2" hitches only. It also comes with the folding shank for stowaway position, as well as your anti-rattle bolt. Part number on this is going to be SR9851. Let's go ahead and get it fitted onto our vehicle. First thing we're going to do is insert the shank into the receiver and then line up our pinholes.

Today on our 2015 Ford Explorer Police Interceptor we're going to be doing a test fit of the Sport Rack Vista cargo carrier. It's going to have your 2" shank for your 2" hitches only, a sturdy steel construction. It's going to be 20" by 60" long with a 500 pound weight capacity. It's going to be part number SR9849. Let's go ahead and get fitted onto the vehicle that we have here today. First thing you're going to want to do is insert your shank into your receiver, then line up your pinholes. Once you have your pinholes lined up, insert your anti-rattle bolt and thread it in as far as you can by hand.
