In order to flat-tow a 2016 Ford Focus with all four wheels on the ground you are going to need a base plate kit, tow bar, safety cables, supplemental braking system, wiring harness, and possible high-low adapter. Before getting started, I highly recommend taking a look in the owner's manual for any specific procedures that must be done while in tow.
For a base plate kit, I recommend the Roadmaster EZ5 Base Plate Kit part # RM-524443-5 as long as you do not have adaptive cruise control.... view full answer...
We have somewhat simpler trunk bike racks that fit your 2003 Ford Focus Wagon but the Saris Solo part # SA102 that you mentioned does not fit your vehicle so I would not recommend it for you. The Thule OutWay # TH45JV would be the simplest option since it only uses 2 straps to secure to the vehicle. Others require 4-6 straps which is a bit more involved. This also has anti-sway cages on the frame cradles and is much more adjustable so you'll have a much more stable and secure trunk solution... view full answer...
On your 2018 Ford Focus I recommend the Stay-IN-Play DUO, part # SM99251, for a supplemental braking system. Mainly because no only does it work well (as does the InvisiBrake) it's a little easier to install. Our installers prefer it to any other permanently installed system. I've linked a video of when we installed it into a 2015 Focus for you. You're also going to need a Brake-Lite Relay, part # RM-88400, to keep the lights of the Focus from overriding the lights of the RV.
The InvisiBrake... view full answer...
For your 2011 Ford Focus, in order to use the Roadmaster Tracker Tow Bar, your only option is to use the Roadmaster EZ Base Plate Kit - Removable Arms # 524413-1A and unfortunately the instructions you have are all I can offer. The pictures help walk you through it. In the attached instructions you will drill 2 holes and the location will be based on the bracket's other holes that fit into predrilled locations, so it will be easy to mark accurately. The torque specs for the bolts are... view full answer...
I spoke with my contact at SportRack and got the measurements that you will need. First on the front bar the side to side setting is 26. For the back bar it is 24.
The front to back measurements for the front bar measured from the center of the B-pillar forward is 10 inches. And from the center of the front bar back for the placement of the rear bar is 24 inches. view full answer...
Roof rack # SR1010 is not a fit for a Ford Focus, is this the one you have? If you let me know what year your vehicle is I can recommend the right fit, but this one is not going to work on a Focus. view full answer...
The best cargo carrier we have for your 2007 Ford Focus is the Reese Cargo Carrier part # 63155 which measures 47" long x 20" wide. Although we do not have a cargo carrier 48" long x 22" wide, this will be the next closest size we have and it is very similar to what you are looking for. The Reese Cargo Carrier is class I rated so it will work with any trailer hitch on your Focus. I have attached a few accessories for you below as well. view full answer...
The differences between the two custom wiring kits you mentioned is the vehicles they are designed to fit. However, neither of them fit your 2017 Ford Focus. Part # HM56200 fits a Jeep Wrangler JK from 2017 and 2018 and part # HM56007 fits a Focus but it's the sedan model from 2012 to 2014. These kits offer a simple plug-in installation behind the vehicle's tail lights. Unfortunately, this option isn't available for your 2017 hatchback.
Instead I recommend part # TR118821 that does... view full answer...
The spare wheel/tire I recommend for a wave runner boat trailer with 175/80-13 tires is the Westlake ST175/80R13 Radial Trailer Tire w/ 13" Black Mod Wheel - 5 on 4-1/2 - Load Range C, Item # LHAX097 which is black in color. Unfortunately, we don't have any trailer wheels with a black chrome finish. In order to mount the spare wheel/tire on the trailer, the Fulton Hi-Mount Spare Tire Carrier part # FSTC1000301 is an excellent option. view full answer...
The best option I have for you to tow a 5th wheel trailer using a flat-bed truck with recessed gooseneck hitch is with the Demco Recon Gooseneck-to-5th Wheel Trailer Hitch Adapter part # DM8550046. The Demco Recon is designed for this exact purpose and it's lightweight so it will be easy to take on/off. In order for this to work, the distance from the floor of the bed to the top of the hitch ball cannot be more than 13/16". If so, you will need an adapter that attaches to the pin box like... view full answer...
For your 2016 Ford Focus ST hatchback the trailer wiring harness I recommend is the T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector # 118674.
Tekonsha makes the most reliable trailer wiring harnesses in the industry, and this one has the highest amp rating for your vehicle, so it gives you the best prevention against potential shorts. I have added a link to a video install of this harness for you to check out as well.
Additionally, if you need a hitch there is one that... view full answer...
The Malone EcoLight Sport Trailer with V-Style Carriers for 2 Kayaks # MAL43FR that you bought uses a 4-way trailer connector for the trailer lighting so the correct harness you'd need for your 2007 Ford Focus is the # 18252 which splices into the taillight circuits of your vehicle.
I attached an install video for this kit on a similar 2003 Ford Focus for you to check out as well. view full answer...
When flat towing a vehicle you have to go by what is listed in the owners manual of the vehicle as the proper process otherwise you might damage something or end up being a danger to other motorists.
Most likely you have to disconnect the battery of your vehicle so that the battery does not drain while you are flat towing it. Since the front wheels of a vehicle have to be unlocked and be able to be turned you will end up having the key of the vehicle turned on to accomplish this. Well... view full answer...
For your 2017 Ford Focus ST hatchback the hitch you'll want is the Curt part # C11431 which has been confirmed as a fit, is made in the USA, and will install easily. view full answer...
We offer ball mounts that fit 1-1/4 inch hitches that are compatible with 2 inch hitch balls. For example we have the # 3593 which fits that hitch size and then for a 2 inch hitch ball we have the # 19258. view full answer...
We can give you the tools to achieve what you're wanting but your vehicle is limited when it comes to hitch sizes and capacity. Since you only have 1-1/4" hitch options we don't have a lot of towing options for your Challenger X Scooter. We also can't use an adapter for the hitch as it will cut down the capacity too much to where it could not handle the weight of your scooter. Best thing you can do is get a specific trailer for your scooter.

There are 5 main items you need when you are planning on flat-towing your 2014 Ford Focus. You will need base plates, a tow bar, safety cables, lighting on the vehicle, and most states now require supplemental brake systems.
For your Focus I recommend the Roadmaster EZ5 Base Plates, part # RM-524430-5. When you are not towing your Focus and you remove the front arms, the system is nearly invisible.
The tow bar I recommend is the RoadMaster Falcon 2 Tow Bar, part # RM-520. This tow bar... view full answer...
The short answer is that when using a fork mounted roof bike rack the front wheels will have to go wherever you can put them. Or you could use the Thule Front Wheel Carrier # TH98BV which will also mount to a roof rack and hold the front wheel of a bike.
Another option is to use a bike rack that holds the bike at the frame or wheel. For example the Rhino-Rack Hybrid # RRRBC050 holds the bike at the wheels. I have linked video reviews of both of these racks for you. view full answer...
The best length fairing will be the one that fits between the feet of the roof rack without going over. While your # RRRF2 may look too short at first glance with your Rhino Rack roof rack part # RR78MR it should still work really well. The next size up would most likely overhang past the feet and it's better to be a little short than too long. view full answer...
