You will not have to use diodes, although you could if you wanted and it wouldn't hurt anything, because there is only one input circuit for each of the wires. If you are trying to install lights like # STL8RB to your 2006 Ford Mustang the problem could be that the car has separate turn signal and brake lights while trailer lights have a combined turn signal and brake light circuit.
On light # STL8RB, the white wire is ground, the green wire is stop and turn lights, and the brown wire is running lights.

To install the Draw-Tite Trailer Hitch Receiver # 24747 you were looking at on to your 2006 Ford Mustang you will just need to enlarge the hole in the passenger side exhaust hanger. This makes it so that the hanger can be reinstalled after the hitch is in place. There is no drilling required in the actual frame of the vehicle.

In some applications there will have to be some modifications to get the exhaust hangers to work. Since you have a different style hanger you will need to remove them or work around them and install the hangers that come with this kit.
The hanger bracket should have holes it that will allow you to attach it to the body or frame of your vehicle. If not, then you could drill holes through the brackets or have them welded in.

For Curt trailer hitch # C11312 for your 2005 Ford Mustang you might have to enlarge an access hole which you could do with a drill. But no new holes will need to be drilled. And you may not have to enlarge the access hole either.
If you want to use the hitch for an accessory such as a bike rack or cargo carrier then you have to make sure the accessory is rated for use with a Class I trailer hitch. Also, with a bike rack, you are limited to 2 bikes maximum on a Class I hitch.
