Hello Nance,
I do still recommend going with the Brake Buddy Classic 3 Portable Flat Tow Brake System - Preset # HM39494, since a braking system is actually required by law in all states. If you’re flat towing without one and happen to get pulled over, there’s a good chance the officer will say something like, “Which one do you want us to tow, the motorhome or the car?” That’s not just a theory, it actually happened to one of our customers!
I’ve also attached a helpful article that goes... view full answer...

The Roadmaster base plate kit that fits your 1993 Mazda Miata is the part # 711-4 that you referenced but then for an adapter to go from it to a Blue Ox Tow Bar you'd need the # RM-032 which you might have based on what you mentioned. You can compare what you have to the product pictures of this part number or you can email me pictures and I'll take a look. view full answer...
Hey Nancy,
I did not see that information anywhere, so I reached out to my friends at Roadmaster and this was their response: The wiggle is totally normal for our baseplate kits to prevent the rigid energy from the hitch setup from being transferred to the flat towed vehicle's frame. The hole they mention is for a pad lock like our # RM-301 and # RM-302 part numbers so they have the option to lock those arms to the vehicle to prevent them from walking away.
I am sorry for the delay in... view full answer...
It doesn't look like Roadmaster ever test fit the Invisibrake in a 2003 Mazda Miata so while I can't say for sure I do have a great option.
The SMI DUO part # SM99251 is a confirmed fit for your vehicle and among the permanent install braking kits we offer for flat towing this is our installers favorite kit. It installs the easiest and works the best. I would highly recommend you go with this kit. view full answer...

Hey there Nancy,
Happy to get you the most cost effective parts so you can get your 2001 Mazda Miata flat towed behind your 2021 Winnebago Travato. Here is what you are going to need:
- Base Plate: Roadmaster Crossbar-Style Base Plate Kit - Removable Arms # 711-4
- Tow Bars: We have reached out to Roadmaster in the past about the tow bars for the 2001 Mazda Miata, they do not recommend a coupler style tow bar like the # RM-501 because it is going to put too much weight on the front of... view full answer...
In order to flat tow your 1990 Mazda Miata you are going to need base plates, a tow bar, safety cables, wiring to activate brake and turn signal lights, a supplemental braking system and likely a high-low adapter.
The base plates that fit your Miata are the RoadMaster XL # 711-4 and the compatible RoadMaster Tracker Tow Bar # RM-020 which you referenced. For safety chains you can use the RoadMaster 68" Single Hook, Coiled Safety Cables # RM-643.
There are a couple of options for you... view full answer...
The battery charger output of the Progressive Dynamics Charger/Converter # PD4135K that you referenced is 35 amps 12 volt. This also equals 470 watts but typically in 12 volt battery charger applications amperage is listed instead of wattage. view full answer...
The Curt Class I Trailer Hitch, # 11749, should not require any rear fascia trimming or modification. The instructions do not list any steps for trimming, modification, and there are no notes regarding the receiver touching the rear fascia. I have included a link to the installation details for reference. I
f you needed to trim the fascia, you can use a sharp utility knife (like a box cutter), score the area that needs to be trimmed, and in many cases, wiggling the piece back and forth... view full answer...
I will be happy to help you out. The separate brake light circuit is going to have to be combined with the turn signals in order to use a light kit with a 4-Pole connector. There is a special converter for this, # RM-732. On the input side you will connect the right turn signal wire to the green lead, the left turn signal wire to the yellow lead, and the brake light wire to the red lead.
The converter will properly combine the signals and on the output side you will have green for right... view full answer...
In order to determine if the Replacement Steps, Motor, and Switch for Kwikee RV Electric Steps # LC3722617 will fit your 2014 Winnebago View or not you're going to first need to make sure that you have a mounting space of at least 25-1/2" wide and 11-3/8" deep.
Then once that is determined, you'll need to measure the entry height by measuring from the mounting point to the ground. This number should roughly match the height of the steps when they're fully extended plus 6-8" for the drop... view full answer...
First check to make sure the light is grounded properly. That is typically what causes a trailer light to stop working. Especially when the light is an LED that doesn't normally burn out.
The light # C7493RTM that you referenced has a sealed lens that does not allow you to get into it. Plus the LED light inside it is not like a standard bulb that is easily replaced.
Try improving the ground first. That will most likely fix the problem.

You sure can flat-tow your 1993 Miata behind your motorhome. Since we only offer Roadmaster base plates for your vehicle you have a couple options. I recommend the Roadmaster XL Base Plate Kit, part # 711-4.
If you decide you want to go with the Blue Ox Alpha Tow Bar, part # BX7380, you will need the RoadMaster Base Plate to Blue Ox Tow Bars Adapter, part # RM-033. Then you will need the Roadmaster Tow Bar Quick Disconnect Kit, part # RM-201.

That is correct, base plates like the Roadmaster # 711-2 and # 711-4 use the front tie down plate mounts as mounting points. The # 711-4 with removable arms will use the front tie down plate mount and stabilizer bar mounts. The # 711-2 uses the front tie down plate mount and frame. In addition to the base plates you will also need the following:

-Safety Cables: RoadMaster 68" Single Hook, Coiled Safety... view full answer...
For your Curt Tow Bar part # C19745 you can attach it to Blue Ox base plate kits with the adapter part # BX8833. There isn't a way to attach the Curt tow bar to Roadmaster base plates. If you have a 2002 Mazda Miata like I believe you do you'd want the base plate kit part # BX2514 and you'd be set with the adapter # BX8833. view full answer...
As long as you have verified that the wire in question only goes hot when the brake pedal is applied, there is no reason why you cannot use the wire intended for the bed cap third brake light. If you do not have a circuit tester, we offer one, part # PTW2993.
Certain vehicles (like GM trucks produced in the late 1990s) had brake switch wiring that was very difficult to access. In those instances, we typically recommend doing exactly what you propose. view full answer...
Currently the Roadmaster Crossbar-Style Base Plate Kit # 711-4 is the only base plate we have available for your 2000 Mazda Miata with removable arms. As you were looking at the Blue Ox # BX2514 I am assuming you have a Blue Ox tow bar. You can use the Roadmaster Adapter Kit # RO64FR to use the Roadmaster base plate with your Blue Ox tow bar. The base plate will require a Quick Disconnect Crossbar # 910021-00.
The Roadmaster Diode 7-Wire to 6-Wire Flexo-Coil Wiring Kit # RM-15267 will... view full answer...
For a base plate kit confirmed to fit your 1999 Mazda Miata that has removable arms you would want the XL Roadmaster kit part # 711-4.
In addition to the base plates, you will also need a compatible tow bar, safety cables, lighting, and supplemental braking to flat tow your vehicle. The most popular compatible tow bar is the Falcon 2, # RM-520. This tow bar has telescoping arms that will allow for easy connection and will fold up and store on the RV.
