You will need to start with a 4-way (if you do not have one). For that you would want the # 118478.

If you are looking for a way to power the trailer brakes you would not run the blue wire of the 7-way to the positive post of your battery.
Instead you would run that wire up to the blue wire of a brake controller like the part # 90885 that you referenced. I attached a diagram that shows how a brake controller wires to a 7-way.

For the old Karrite Voyager cargo box you would use replacement latch # 03347. The replacement locks and keys, # SR03807, should also be the correct fit for the box.
For the hinges, replacement parts are not available. If they are not moving freely then you may need to remove the hinges, inspect them for damage or to see if they are bent, give them a good cleaning, dry them completely, then use a house hold lubricant to assist in movement.

It sounds like the converter box may have shorted out, which can cause high and low voltage readings. To verify this, you will want to test the power going into and out of the converter box. The P3 brake controller # 90195 only uses the 4 wires. The 5th wire you are referring to sounds like the illumination circuit that is not needed by the brake controller. I am not sure though what the year, make, and model of your vehicle is.

This hitch has the safety chain loops below the hitch opening whereas the Draw-Tite # 75153 hitch has the safety chain loops above the hitch opening which I think makes them a little less visible.
