To add a hitch to your 2024 Kia Forte, I recommend the Curt item # C55HR. This hitch is custom fit and bolts to your Kia with included hardware. This is a class I hitch with a 1-1/4" receiver. It has a 2,000 lbs towing capacity and a 200 lbs maximum tongue weight.
I really like the Curt Hitch item # C55HR because the crosstube mounts behind your rear bumper leaving only the 1-1/4" receiver exposed. This not only looks better but it helps with ground clearance which is important with a... view full answer...
Hello Michael, thanks for reaching out. For your 2022 Kia Forte GT-Line I recommend the Curt Class 1 Hitch # C55HR. This is a class 1 hitch meaning it has a 1-1/4" receiver and is rated for towing 2,000 lbs or up to 200 lbs of tongue weight. We have confirmed that this will fit the GT-Line models since they have a single exhaust. view full answer...
Hey Richard, yes we do have hitches that fit your 2020 Kia Forte hatchback that you can use with a bike rack. For that the Draw Tite hitch part # DT83MR is a fit and would be a great choice for a bike rack like the Hollywood Racks # HR200Z. view full answer...
According to my research, you can carry a scooter on the rear of your 2017 Kia Forte. However, the weight of the scooter, carrier, trailer hitch, cargo, and passengers cannot exceed 849 lbs. If you need further information on this then you will want to take a look at page 5-91 of your owner's manual.
If you do not already have a trailer hitch I recommend using the Draw-Tite Sportframe Trailer Hitch Receiver part # 24903 (22 lbs) because you do not need to remove any underbody panels from... view full answer...
While we don't have an install video for the Kat's Heater part # KH11812 that fits your 2016 Kia Forte with a 2.0 liter engine I can help you find the correct location to install it. The heater cartridge will be installed in the left front hole in the engine block. I attached a diagram picture from Kat's that shows more on where you'd find it.
The holes are pre-cast holes that the manufacturer has made in the engine block. You might have to clean the holes out before installing the heater. view full answer...
Hello Ted. The owners manual for the 2018 Kia Forte pretty clearly states not to use the vehicle for towing. True, we do sell a 2,000 lb rated trailer hitch, the Curt # C11368 which fits the 2018 Forte. The 2,000 lb rating is minimum weight rating for any Curt hitch, and this does not mean that the vehicle is rated for towing 2,000 lbs.
I have a 2010 Corolla with a hitch on it and it is pretty much the same as the Forte in this regard. I have only ever used the hitch for a bike rack.... view full answer...
Hello Dan.
Yes, in order to install the base plate you will need to remove your fog lights as they will be in the way of the crossmember.
I see that you were looking at the Roadmaster Base Plate Kit # 522112-1, this is NOT a fit for the 2021 Kia Forte, it is however a fit for the 2012-2013 Kia Soul. For your 2021 Kia Forte I do not have a Roadmaster option, I do have the Blue Ox Base Plate Kit - Removable Arms # BX2728.
I am not sure how many other components you have for flat towing... view full answer...
Hi Dino; I don't have a full schematic for the # C55HR but I can tell you the distance between the mounting holes. The distance across the hitch between mounting holes is 40" center to center. The distance between the mounting holes on each bracket front to back is 6.48" center to center. The hitch fits the 2020 - 2024 Kia Forte excluding GT models. If you need a different measurement please let me know in the comments below. view full answer...
Hey John what you're looking for isn't a brake controller it's called a supplemental braking system and they're required by law if you're flat towing a vehicle. The best all around system is the one you were looking at, the Demco Stay-IN-Play Duo Flat Tow Brake System for RVs w/ Hydraulic Brakes item # SM99251.
The Demco Stay-IN-Play item # SM99251 is a proportional braking system that permanently installs in your Kia Forte. It activates your Kia's brakes when your RV decelerates or you... view full answer...
Thanks for the information! I don't have access to any kind of system that reads VIN's but you gave me enough to answer your question.
If your 2017 Kia Forte LX has a automatic transmission you'll need to use a tow dolly like the Demco Kar Kaddy SS Tow Dolly with Disc Brakes item # DM9713045. I checked the owner's manual and you can only flat tow the manual models.
To flat tow your 2017 Kia Forte LX, with a manual transmission, you will need the following parts:

Thanks for reaching out, Fred!
Your 2017 Kia Forte will have enough clearance to be used on a tow dolly. If you don't already have one, I recommend using the Demco Kar Kaddy SS # DM9713045 because it has electric brakes and can fold up for less storage space both at home and at the campsite.
Be sure to check your owner's manual for any instructions on towing with a tow dolly! view full answer...
The Rhino Rack roof rack part numbers # RRVA118B-2, # RRRLKVA, and # DK401 is a confirmed fit for your 2016 Kia Forte and would be a great rack for a foldable kayak carrier like the Yakima JayLow part # Y04073 which is a J-style rack that can fold down when not in use. view full answer...
Hey Charley, great question! Yes, the etrailer Scissor Stabilizer Jacks # e56VV come with a limited lifetime warranty. Are you replacing two jacks or do you need to swap out all four on your trailer? This is a pair so if you need four jacks you will have to order a quantity of two. Feel free to reply below if you need anything else! view full answer...
Not sure what part you're talking about because I didn't see any order number but for adequate grounding, your multimeter should read about 0.3 ohms.
Did you check your fuses? What part are you talking about? view full answer...
There sure is! You'd want to use the Draw-Tite # DT83MR, as the # 24903 you'd looked at fits the previous generation vehicle and wouldn't fit your 2021 Forte.
This being said, instead of the Draw-Tite # DT83MR which would be fully visible once installed, I'd recommend the partially concealed Curt # C55HR instead. Once installed, the crossbar of the Curt # C55HR would be concealed behind the vehicle's rear bumper fascia with only the receiver tube and the safety chain hoops being visible,... view full answer...
Using some grease when installing the Kat's Heaters Custom Fit Engine Block Heater # KH11812 can help prevent corrosion and help to transfer heat, so it's highly recommended but it isn't a requirement. Personally, I recommend using a bit of # 11755 to help keep out moisture that could end up causing corrosion and making removal of the cartridge a nightmare later on. view full answer...
We do not have a custom fit hitch specific to your 2023 Kia Forte GT but we did receive a review from someone who mentioned they were able to install it on their 2020 Forte GT but it took cutting a hole in the bumper and modifying part of the frame. I cannot speak to what all modifications were required but they used the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C55HR.
I recommend installing the 4-way # C54ER when you install the receiver. This will allow you to connect to the lights on a small trailer... view full answer...
The 2017 Kia Forte was the second to last model year of the 2nd generation Forte, while the 2020 is the second model year of the 3rd gen. There were enough changes in the structure of the vehicle from the 2nd to the 3rd gen that unfortunately your Curt # C11368 from your 2017 Forte will not work on your 2020 model.
For the 2020 Forte sedan, I'd recommend the Curt # C55HR Class I hitch you'd looked at. As you can see in the photo I provided, once installed the # C55HR will be much more... view full answer...
The best hitch for your 2023 Kia Forte Sedan is going to be the Draw-Tite Trailer Hitch item # DT83MR. This hitch is custom fit and bolts to your Kia with included hardware.
This is a class I hitch, with a 1-1/4" receiver, that weighs 32 lbs. It has a 2,000 lbs towing capacity, and a 200 lbs maximum tongue weight.
I have linked a picture below so you can see what this hitch looks like when installed.
