Hi Steve!
You can absolutely install the Curt 58902 flat tow wiring harness with the Curt # C55363 trailer wiring harness you already have installed on your 2000 Jeep Wrangler. It's something that is done very often, but you definitely want to make sure everything is fully plugged in together and all your grounds are good and secure.
Do you have all the parts to get your Jeep ready for flat towing? I saw you got the Blue Ox base plate recently, but do you have a braking system and tow bars? view full answer...
The Rampage Rock Rage Front Bumper for Jeep # RA97801 doesn't have a D-ring add-on option so you'd have to have a qualified fabricator weld D-rings in to the bumper if you wanted them. You'd also need to have that fabricator ensure that the bumper is properly secured enough to the frame to be able to tow from the D-rings.
If you end up being able to tow from the D-rings then you'll want either the Roadmaster # RM-035 (3/4" thick D-rings) or RM-035-1 (1" thick D-rings) and a Roadmaster... view full answer...
Because the control box for your Dometic Penguin II RV air conditioning system (model starting with 641) is inside your rooftop unit both Dometic and ASA Electronics (Advent Air) recommend replacing the entire system. Some Penguin models have the control box in located in the air distribution box which would allow you to just use the adapter from the new rooftop unit to the air distribution box/control box and still retain use of the thermostat. Since you'll be removing the control box... view full answer...
Hello Gary,
Great question! For your Jayco Class C, the best dual 2” high-low hitch adapter for your setup is the Roadmaster # RM-077-2. It’s rated for 10,000 lbs towing and 400 lbs tongue weight, which will work well for both your NSA Ready Brute tow bar and your bike rack with two e-bikes (260 lbs total). It also provides the 2” height adjustment needed between your motorhome’s hitch and the Jeep’s base plate.
The Let's Go Aero is actually my go to for locking hitch pins, so I would... view full answer...
Yes, the Curt Custom Base Plate Kit # C32KR for your 2006 Jeep TJ will also fit with a Blue Ox tow bar.
For a complete flat towing setup you will need a base plate kit, tow bar, safety cables, vehicle tow bar wiring, a supplemental braking system, and possibly a high-low adapter. If you do not have all of these components just let me know and I can make some additional recommendations for you. view full answer...
Hi David,
The etrailer Classic Base Plate Kit # e74FV could be bolted to your Rockhard front bumper but you'd need to verify with Rockhard that the bumper is rated for flat towing. It looks like they design their bumpers for this usage but it's always best to confirm that your specific model has the rating to ensure you don't have it breakdown while you're out on the road.
If you don't have the rest of your flat towing components then I have the following recommendations for you:

Hey Brian, if you grab the magnet and move it in the direction of the arm that it is attached to far enough it will click and it will adjust the star wheel tighter. This will be the easiest way to move the shoes out. Or you can install them and then slide the manual override lever of your brake controller over and over and it will grab the magnet and do this for you. view full answer...
Hi Stephen; yes, installation of the Curt Custom Base Plate Kit # C32KR will reduce ground clearance at the front of your Jeep. This hangs down below the bumper as seen in the photo below. The distance from the ground to the center of the brackets is 17-3/4" so that will give you a good idea on where this sits.
Do you have the rest of your parts picked out to flat tow your Jeep? view full answer...
Hey Jim, the only front hitch we have for your 2005 Jeep TJ that installs below the front bumper is the Curt part # C31028 but it does require drilling into the frame. view full answer...
Hey Sam, I attached a link down below that will let you see all of the installers in our area that you can pick from. For parts I would go with the Roadmaster base plate kit part # RM-521424-5 as it's easier to use and installs relatively easy.
In addition to the base plates, you will also need a compatible tow bar, safety cables, lighting, and supplemental braking to flat tow your vehicle. The most popular compatible tow bar is the Falcon All Terrain, # RM-522. This has non-binding arms... view full answer...
Hey Tim, thanks for all of the info!
The Roadmaster Kit # 1427-1 on your buddy's Jeep is for a different model Jeep which is why you're having issues finding that for your 1998 Jeep TJ on our site. The equivalent for your '98 TJ would be the part # 1417-1 but requires you to move your factory fog lights 1" for the kit to fit.
Since you're wanting to switch to a D-Ring front bumper you'll need the Adapter Kit # RM-035-1 for 1" D-Rings. Please note you'll need to make sure your bumper is... view full answer...
Hey Ron, you would just need a Roadmaster base plate kit for your 1997 Jeep Wrangler TJ like the part # RM-521424-5 which will work great with your Blackhawk 2 All Terrain tow bar. Do you have lighting and braking already covered? view full answer...
I am attaching a helpful article that explains how to measure to see what clearance you need at the back of your Jeep with the rear mounted spare tire.
After you have measured for clearance you can take a look at the attached link I have provided for hitch mounted bike carriers.
If you want to let me know the year of your Jeep Wrangler, and the clearance measurement you have, I can make some recommendations that will work for you. Also, let me know what size hitch you have on your Jeep.... view full answer...
Hey Karl,
The wiring for the neutral safety switch is in the same area so it's possible you spliced into the wrong wire. Is your F-150 a push start or keyed ignition? view full answer...
The Roadmaster Falcon All Terrain, Non-Binding Tow Bar # RM-522 along with all the other flat towing components for your Jeep can absolutely be used to tow a Jeep behind a pickup truck.
You will still need the base plates, wiring, safety cables, supplemental brake system, and possibly a high-low adapter to tow a Jeep. Everything you need to tow a vehicle behind a motorhome will still be required for towing it behind a pickup truck. If you'd like some specific recommendations let me... view full answer...
With 6,000 pound axles they must take 12 x 2 inch assemblies. For a left and right side pair of assemblies you can use # AKFBBRK-7. We do not have an option for self-adjusting brakes in this size with a single-servo design.
For an actuator I recommend the Hydrastar # HS381-9066. This unit is rated to 1,200 psi so it provides a little extra kick above the 1,000 psi units. Since you have a couple of 6,000 pound axles you're going to want the best to slow the loaded trailer down. It also... view full answer...
Hey Robert, the correct kit you'd want is the Roadmaster Diode kit part # RM-154 which is a fit for your 2005 Jeep TJ Wrangler and is designed to plug into a 4-way like what you have at the rear of your tow vehicle so it would be exactly what you are looking for. view full answer...
Hello Mike, thanks for reaching out. The Blue Ox Off-Road Bumper Adapters # BX88358 are what I recommend for D-rings with 1" holes. These will work with any of the Blue Ox brand tow bars.
Since your D-rings are spaced 32-1/2" apart you will need to use the Blue Ox Avail Non-Binding Tow Bar # BX7420 since this is the only option we offer from Blue Ox that will work with that D-ring spacing.
For the wiring kit I recommend the Roadmaster 4-Diode Universal Wiring Kit for Towed Vehicles #... view full answer...
Hey Andy! I'm not 100% sure what you're asking but the etrailer Classic Base Plate Kit # e74FV can work with Roadmaster and Blue Ox tow bars. The correct adapter depends on the exact tow bar. It looks like you decided to go with the Roadmaster Direct-Connect Base Plate Kit # RM-521424-5 which will fit Roadmaster tow bars as well as Blue Ox if you use an adapter.
What tow bar do you have? view full answer...
