Hey Jonathan, thanks for reaching out!
For a hitch and wiring kit for your 2024 BMW X1 you'll need to go with the Stealth Hitches Hidden Trailer Hitch Receiver w/ Towing Kit # SH55VR. This comes with the hitch receiver that's used for accessories like bike racks and cargo carriers, as well as the ball mount designed for towing with this hitch, and the wiring needed for the trailer.
What kind of trailer do you plan on towing with this? Just out of curiosity. view full answer...
Hey Amy,
There is trimming of the underneath fascia and heat shield of your 2023 BMW X1 when installing the Stealth Hitches Hidden Rack Receiver # SH77VR.
This is needed to give the receiver a place to protrude after installation, but there is otherwise no type of permanent altering or removing of parts. I have a added a link below to the instructions for you to take a look at if you want a look at how the entire installation will go.
I also wanted to mention (just to be thorough), that... view full answer...
I agree that is an unusual fit exclusion for your 2014 BMW X1, but the roof of a vehicle is a large part of the structure of it. Different roof types will require different frame setups. So what that means is that the versions of your 2014 BMW X1 that have the panoramic sunroof vs. the ones that do not will have different frame designs.
That is why the Draw Tite hitch part # 75761 that you referenced does not fit the versions of the vehicle that do not have the sunroof. view full answer...
Due to the alternative frame of your Electra Townie you probably want to stay away from a traditional hanging rack.
My top choice for you is the RockyMounts BackStage # RKY10002. This is a platform rack that holds the bikes by the wheels. The best part about it is that it can swing out away from the back of the vehicle giving you full access to the rear cargo area of your 2015 BMW X1. The BackStage also includes locks for both the rack and the bikes and can carry two bikes up to... view full answer...
Hey Rob, we have a Stealth hitch Class III hitch for your 2024 X1 with the part # SH55VR which comes with trailer wiring and a ball mount platform that you can attach to it. view full answer...
Hey James, the Stealth hitch part # SH77VR that you referenced is a fit for your 2024 BMW X1 and would work great. Looks like we have one in stock but the main reason we took it out of our fitguide was the delay to get more of them. view full answer...
Hello Juann, thanks for reaching out. Sadly, the trailer hitches for the 2014 BMW X1 will only fit models with the panoramic sunroof. Since yours does not have the sunroof, the hitches will not fit. I agree that the panoramic sunroof is a bit of a weird exclusion, but from my understanding the sunroof requires a different frame setup which is why the hitches will not work on models without the sunroof. view full answer...
Hi Flash; the Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch # 76018 has a tongue weight capacity of 675 lbs which is more than enough for that bike rack and your e-bikes. The limiting factor is likely the tongue weight capacity of your vehicle. Make sure 2016 BMW X1 xDrive28i is capable of handling the weight of your bikes plus the rack.
Any big trips planned with your e-bikes once you get the hitch installed? view full answer...
Hi Frederick!
I asked Stealth Hitches and this is the response I got:
"Thank you for your interest in Stealth Hitches. We rely on customers to bring us their vehicles for verification of new model year fitments or development of a new hitch for a vehicle as the Vehicle Manufactures/Dealers do not provide any information. We have not yet seen the 2025 Countryman in our development facility to develop a hitch for the new Countryman. We are offering a free hitch and free installation... view full answer...
For your 2016 BMW X1, I recommend the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class III - 2" # C13303. The towing capacity of your vehicle is rated at 3,700 lbs, so that is the maximum weight you can tow. This will work for your boat, jet ski, and bikes.
For your wiring, I recommend the T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Connector # 118717 which will be plug and play. Then you can use the Curt Towing Starter Kit for 2" Hitches - 2" Ball - 3/4" Rise, 2" Drop - 7.5K #... view full answer...
Hey Patrick, the Curt trailer wiring harness part # C59236 does fit your 2024 BMW X1 and would not cause any warning lights to come on the dash. We had the chance to install this on a similar 2021 X1 to yours and found that it fit and worked great.
Do you have a hitch picked out already? view full answer...
Hey Robert! I checked with Draw-Tite and their Max-Frame Trailer Hitch item # 76018 will indeed fit the xDrive 28i model of the 2023 BMW X1. We haven't had a chance to install one on a 2023 yet, which is why we only have the 2021 photos.
The Draw-Tite Hitch item # 76018 is custom fit and bolts to your BMW with included hardware. It is a class III hitch with a 2" receiver that has a 4,500 lbs towing capacity and a 675 lbs maximum tongue weight.

The 2 options you have for installing a 2" trailer hitch on a 2020 BMW X1 includes the Curt # C13303 and the Draw-Tite # e93KR. The Curt hitch and the etrailer hitch have very similar installed. They are both rated 6 out of 10 for difficulty with a 1 hour estimated install time. I've attached a sample installation video for the Curt hitch that you can check out. They are very similar hitches.
One difference is their finishes. The etrailer # e93KR has a matte black finish and the Curt... view full answer...
Yes, I can provide a picture of Curt trailer hitch # C13303 installed on a 2016 BMW X1. You can see in the picture that only the receiver is visible and the rest is hidden behind the fascia of the 2016 BMW X1. I have also linked the instructions that have some pictures.
If you plan on doing some towing I recommend etrailer ball mount kit # 989900. It comes with 2 ball mounts; one with a 3/4 inch rise or 2 inch drop and one with a 2-3/4 inch rise or 4 inch drop. It also includes a 1-7/8... view full answer...
Hey Andre. To install a roof rack on your 2025 BMW X1 2.8i and your 2018 BMW X3 M40i, I recommend the Thule WingBar Evo Roof Rack item # TH32SG.
The Thule item # TH32SG will attach directly to the flush rails on both your BMW's. This kit includes two 50" wide crossbars, along with the necessary towers and mounting kit needed to securely attach to your roof rails.
We also have the same exact kit but with silver crossbars item # TH94SG.

Hey Jeff,
If you go with the Stealth Hitches Hidden Trailer Hitch Receiver w/ Towing Kit # SH55VR then you'll need the # ETBC7L to transition from the 4-pole connector to a 7-way. From there you'll need a brake controller like the Curt Echo # C51180. This plugs right into the 7-way and will connect to the to your trailer's 7-way cable. It has an app that you you'll use to setup your brake settings and then will automatically activate the brakes in proportion to how fast the vehicle decelerates. view full answer...
Hey Sue, the Thule roof box part # TH614 that you referenced was designed to fit OEM crossbar setups like what you have on your 2023 BMW X1 so this would work great. view full answer...
I have included a picture that shows what Curt hitch # C13140 looks like when installed on a BMW X1. The picture is from the instructions which I have also linked for you. As you can see the receiver opening is the only part visible beneath the rear fascia.
At this time none of the other manufacturers we carry have plans for a hitch for the 2013 X1. That could potentially change in the future.
The 2 inch receiver on the Curt hitch will provide you with many more bike rack options than... view full answer...
Yes! I am happy to say that the Thule OutWay # TH65JV will fit both a 2019 and 2020 BMW X1. The great thing about the OutWay is that it already comes with theft-deterring locks that protect your mounted bikes as well as the rack itself. view full answer...
