Today we will be taking a look at the clear plus line of heavy duty windshield wiper blades. The one we're working with today is 24 inch. They're available in a variety of different sizes. See etrailer.com for your fit. I've already got the clear plus heavy duty wiper blade installed on my passenger side, and I've got the old one installed on my driver side. As you can see with the clear plus wiper blade, we get a clean streak free, with less residue. These clear plus wiper blades are the perfect replacement for your heavy duty applications ...
such as RVs, semis, or snow plows. They feature multiple pressure points with split flexers to insure maximum contact with your windshield. The squeegee itself is constructed of a natural rubber with a graph like coating, so it's gonna resist tears and cracks and deliver a clean, streak free wipe. The sturdy industrial steel frame in vented to prevent lifting. It's also powder coating so it's gonna resist rust and corrosion. Now the clear plus wiper blades come in a quantity of 1, so you'll need to purchase 2 of the same part number. Now that we've gone over some features, I'll go ahead and show you how to get it installed.
First thing we need to do is take off our old one. So we'll need a quarter inch wrench and a flat head screwdriver. So we're gonna take out this screw right here. And once we get the nut off, we'll remove our hose for our washer fluid. Set that aside.
And then we're gonna need to push the screws through to get the wiper blade out. So you may need to grab your flat head screwdriver. There's a little tab on our windshield wiper blade here. We're gonna open that up a little bit, just to help us push the screw out, and it should come right out. There we go. Now we can grab out new clear plus heavy duty blade and it does come with new hardware so we'll be using that.
So what we'll need to do is grab our spacer and we're just gonna clip that on our blade like this. Then we'll set up the position we'll line our holes up on the bracket here and you'll need to hold the spacer in place to do so. Then we can take our new hardware. We'll remove the washer and the lock nut. We're just gonna push that through the hole, doesn't matter which side you go through, just as long as it comes out the other side. Just like that. Then once that's through, we'll reconnect our hose, as it was before. All right, once that's on, we'll put on our flat washer, followed by our lock nut and then we'll just tighten that down. Now the new sizes -- there's gonna be a 7mm for the lock washer and then an 8mm for the bolt on the other side. And we'll just tighten that down and there's not reason to over tighter. Lets get it nice and snug, and then we've got it. Great! Let's try it out. And that's gonna complete our look at the clear plus heavy duty windshield wiper blade.
