Ellen: Hey everyone, I'm Ellen here at etrailer.com, and we're going to be taking a look at the single rocker switch. This is a dual pole dual throw switch, so it offers you the ability to change the direction of flow from one path to another, and it allows you to do that for two different circuits. So if you want to have this going to something like a jack and operating a light at the same time, that can work for this, or any other application where you need something to run in or out, like a slide out, or maybe a winch, and then also have the function for something else. This is a momentary switch, so it'll only send that circuit for as long as you hold it down to the corresponding side. So if you're running a line out for a winch, hold it down, it'll only lasts that long, run it back in. But again, it does throw this to two separate places at one time. So that's where it gets the dual pole dual throw, or double throw, name. You can see it's just a small switch.
It's going to be black in color. As far as the dimensions, we can take a look at that. Overall it measures about an inch and a quarter long by about seven eighths of an inch wide, and then our cutout size is about a half inch by about three quarters to seven eights of an inch. There are a couple little tines, or little spring pieces on either side to help this fit in place and provide some tension against that. So they will squish in or squeeze in a little bit.
This one doesn't seem to be moving too much, usually they're bent out a little bit more. So the smaller the hole, the more it's going to hold securely, but you want to make sure that it's at least three quarters of an inch, if not maybe a little bit longer. So you can see it gives that momentary connection, springs back to center. As far as the power output, or power ratings for this, it can handle eight amps at 125 volts AC, a half horsepower at 125 volts up to 250 volts AC, or nine amps at 14 volts DC. It is made in the USA, and that's about all there is to it for our look at the momentary switch. I hope this video has been helpful in deciding if this is going to be the right piece for you.
