Video Transcript for Review of Weigh Safe Weight Distribution Hitch - WD With Sway Control - WS26WR

Hi everyone, Steve here with etrailer. Today we're taking a look at the Weigh Safe True Tow weight distribution hitch options. Now these all are gonna feature a 2" shank, and you have between a 4", 6", 8" and 10" drop option. So I will throw up an image real quick on the screen. Again, we're looking at complete kits here today, whether you want the 4", 6", 8", or 10" drop, these are the corresponding item numbers. So if you wanted an 8" drop, that's the third one down, item number WS76WR.

If you wanted a 10" assembly with the complete setup, WS26WR. So again, make sure you're checking those part numbers, make sure you're verifying you're on the correct page with the correct drop that you're looking for. So again folks, I just want to show 'em all on video so you can see the differences, but yet still see the complete system that we're checking out today. Now these feature Weigh Safe's innovative live adjustment system, and that's right up here on the top, you can fine tune the spring bar tension while you're fully hitched up. So, that means there's gonna be no more repeated disconnecting or readjusting, all you gotta do is get this dialed in the first time, now it's ready to go up every time you use it from there forward, on that same setup So you can quickly level your trailer, it's gonna improve your timing of getting set up and leaving the campsite, or leaving to the campsite, and it's gonna improve your towing stability right out of the gate.

Now, this system has been built specifically for smaller, mid-size trailer. It is a lightweight system, again, at 6,000 pounds gross towing capacity. And it has the weight distribution with integrated sway control points, down here on the bars at these friction points on these L bracket systems, and that's gonna help reduce trailer movement that's caused by wind, passing traffic, uneven road conditions and those kind of things. And it's gonna help not only tow your vehicle a lot more safer, but as you're gonna feel that difference in the steering wheel, and in your ride quality as well. So again, you will get the included 2" shank, again, either in the 4", 6", 8" or 10" drop options.

So right now I have the 4" option on there, and you can see just how much longer that 10" drop option is if you needed that 10" drop. So, make sure you're checking your setup, making sure you're checking level and those kind of things, and getting the correct drop you need to match up with your system. And we can always help answer any questions you may have as far as, which one do you need for your setup as well. And then again, you can dial in the top here once you get everything set up, and that's gonna help you get level and get right at that sweet spot. You do have some maintenance, grease zerks here on both sides, that's gonna keep those bars pivoting easily whenever they need to.

Got your standard 2 3/16" hitch ball on top that's included, it's all ready to go out of the box, so you have everything ready to go out of the box as far as, you know, not a lot of pieces you gotta put together. Obviously you're gonna have to put together the side brackets here. Lemme go ahead and pull one of them off, and walk up here so you can get a little better view of this. So this is where your spring bar is gonna sit, and it's gonna use friction, that's one of those sway control parts. And I do like their little L brackets here, the way this pin works, it's a lot different and more ergonomic friendly than some of the other brands I've seen out there. And I think this one's gonna hold up really, really well. Now I can tell you, one thing that gets replaced a lot on any way distribution system is this pin assembly, and that's because people just forget 'em unfortunately. So, make sure you're double checking, make sure you have everything pinned up before you leave on your trip. And whenever you get to your campsite, make sure you're storing everything as well so you're not forgetting anything. I'll go ahead and put that back over here. Now, this obviously has been made from a high strength steel, and it does have a nice powder coat black finish on it, so you don't have to worry about rust or corrosion or anything like that anytime soon.
