Your RV doesn't have to bounce and wander after every highway bridge joint. These rear replacement shocks use RV-specific twin-tube hydraulic valving to reduce porpoising and body roll so you can drive with less steering fatigue.
Long highway stretches get tiring fast when your RV keeps porpoising after bridge joints and uneven pavement. Belharra shocks use custom-valved twin-tube hydraulic technology to reduce that front-to-back bouncing motion, giving your rear suspension more controlled movement as your coach settles after road impacts.
Jarring road impacts and sharp bumps wear on everyone in your RV, especially during long travel days. These OEM replacement rear shocks are engineered specifically for RVs with twin-tube hydraulic technology, smoothing out harsh suspension movement so your coach tracks through rough pavement with less shake and less cabin disruption.
A tall RV moving through curves or wind gusts needs rear suspension damping that reacts with control, not loose side-to-side motion. Belharra shocks are custom-valved for RV use to reduce body roll and excessive sway, helping your coach follow steering inputs through turns and highway wind exposure with more predictable movement.
Added weight at the back of your RV can bring rear sag, sway, and a floaty feeling at speed. These rear-position Belharra shocks target excessive sway and rear sag when loaded, giving your suspension more controlled damping while your RV carries weight and continues down the road with less wandering motion.
Many highway handling complaints involve more than one suspension component, especially when crosswinds and passing trucks keep your RV moving around at speed. Belharra shocks are positioned as part of a broader handling package alongside steering stabilizer systems, sway bars, and trac bars (all sold separately). When paired within a larger suspension setup, the rear suspension maintains more controlled movement through long highway stretches and uneven pavement.
High-mileage RV shocks often lose control over bouncing, brake dive, and rear suspension movement during highway travel. These OEM replacement rear shocks use custom-valved twin-tube hydraulic technology to restore more controlled damping at the rear suspension. Safe-T-Plus recommends replacing shocks in axle pairs so suspension response stays consistent across the rear axle during bumps, lane changes, and uneven pavement transitions.

Hi, everybody. Andy here with etrailer. Let's take a quick look at the Safe T Plus rear OEM replacement Belharra shock. Now on your screen, I'm including the fitment here that this is gonna work with 1999 to current Ford F-53, and you notice all of the various gross vehicle weight ratings that this is designed to work with. So on custom fit parts such as a shock, I do recommend going through our vehicle fit guide here at etrailer. Just pop in the year, make, and model of your vehicle, answer any other questions that it might have for you, and our fit guide will confirm if this will work for you or if we have something comparable that will work for you.
Fit guide will also point you to the front OEM replacement shock as well if you're also needing that front one. But this heavy duty shock replacement is designed specifically for your F-53 and it's built noticeably, to noticeably improve rather, how your vehicle's gonna ride and handle. It uses twin tube hydraulic design with custom valving that's tuned specifically for your RV's weight and driving condition. So it's not just a generic shock. It's made for this kind of application.
Now this particular shock is for the rear of your RV, and it's also compatible with steering stabilizer systems if you want to further improve handling. And one of the biggest benefits is ride control. It's gonna help reduce that porpoising motion where the RV rocks forward and back, as well as excessive steering, excessive up and down movement. So what all that means for you is this is gonna give you a smoother, more stable ride overall. It's also gonna keep your tires in better contact with the road.
It's gonna help improve traction and control. You're gonna feel the difference in a few ways. Fewer harsh bumps when you hit uneven pavement. Less body roll when turning and reduce front end, or rear end rather, dive when braking. So all of that's gonna add up to better handling and more confidence behind the wheel, especially on those longer trips.
Now this is designed for heavy duty use, so it's built to handle the demands of larger RVs and the demands of extended travel. So they're not gonna have any modifications to do. Again, this is a replacement, this is gonna pop in right in place of the original. You're not getting any hardware. You're gonna get exactly what you see here. But if you are looking for help with installation, we do have you covered. On this product page, typically underneath the photo section, we have a link that will take you to our installer locator. Answer the questions that it has for you, and that locator will find an installer in your area, that etrailer has partnered with, to install this for you. Well again, my name is Andy. Thank you for joining me.
