The Roadmaster anti-sway bar does for side-to-side movement what a good pair of shocks does for up-and-down motion. You will notice a marked improvement in your vehicle's stability as the bar works to balance weight transfer and reduce body roll. The anti-sway bar acts as a link between your vehicle's frame and its rear axle, using the axle as a brace to more effectively balance the shifting weight of your vehicle as you maneuver it. Lubricated bushings allow just enough pivot and rotation to compensate for the pressure placed on one side of your vehicle when it goes into sudden maneuvers, hits crosswinds or encounters shifting weights.

In addition, the larger diameter of the bar increases its torsional roll stiffness. The result is a bar that is not only stronger than the competition, but also nearly 30 percent better at resisting sway. I have no more sway on our 2005 Fleetwood Southwind Class A after installing this sway bar. However, I must be honest, When I went to install this sway bar, I found that both of the bushings and one of the brackets that attached the factory sway bar to the chassis were completely missing. I replaced the bushings and bracket at the same time that I installed this Roadmaster HD sway bar. I can't honestly tell whish fix or the combination made the difference.

1999 Ford F-53

I ordered the sway bar on Thursday 8/15/2013 and received it on Thursday 8/22. That was very quick shipping for something as heavy as the kit. Price was the lowest I could find on the net. The list price is $980.00 found some places charge around $100.00 less then list plus shipping. Saved a lot by buying from What surprised me was that was able to ship it right away, when I talked to Roadmaster they said the kit was out of stock and would be two to three week before it would be shipped, was told the samething by other's I checked with. Good experience shopping at, will be back.

After over a year the sway bar is still the best investmentupgrade I made to the F53 to eliminate the tailwag of a motorhome with a long overhang. Handles great in side winds and on winding roads. The sway bar is well worth the cost and etrailer has the best price with free shipping.

1999 Ford F-53

I purchased a 2000 Itasca 35U on the Ford Chassis last fall. On the 250 mile drive home on the Coquihalla Hwy in BC Canada ( highway thru hell ) I was white knuckled and afraid this was not ever going to be enjoyable or safe drive.
Did I waste my money? No.

With a little research I found what I hoped would save my dream of hitting the road in this motor home. I found etrailer on line and they had everything I wanted and at the best price I could find anywhere.

I purchased the Roadmaster Front and Rear Anti-Sway bars for this Ford chassis and replaced all four shocks.

The " Roadmaster Products" transformed the drive better than I could expect or ask for. It feels safe and solid on the road! I am so thankfull.

etrailer earned my business and trust. If you are looking to feel safer and more in control in your motorhome, buy this package! I deserved to enjoy a safe and stress free ride and so do you.

In conclusion, etrailer and their Roadmaster products are a must for this motorhome.


I bought this kit with the intention of installing myself, but a quick review of the instructions convinced me to take it in to a shop instead. The installation is not particularly difficult, but was facilitated by some tools that I simply didn't have. In particular, you'll need a BIG torque wrench to retorque the U-bolts, and on a lesser difficulty level, you'll need a very compact drill and stubby bit to install the frame brackets. I could not get a straight path to the correct location with my drill. It took the shop less than an hour, and was probably much simpler for them since they could put the vehicle on a lift. Otherwise, no surprises. The install could be completed by a home mechanic, but would require at least one somewhat specialized tool - a torque wrench rated to around 400 ft-lbs. The Roadmaster instructions suggest reusing the old U-bolts if they are long enough. I called a different source for new U-bolts, and the tech there suggested that, whether the old bolts fit or not, I should probably purchase new bolts. Apparently suspension U-bolts are threaded in such a manner that they are not intended to be reused. News to me.

2014 Honda CR-V

Bought this a year ago. Arrived promptly. Installed with no real problems. I had to get a larger torque wrench to get the bolts tightened to specs. 5000 miles later, I have really enjoyed the improved handling. I also installed the front sway bar. I would highly recommend this to anyone.


Good price , got it fast that = happy customer . The sway control was easy to install drilling the frame takes a good sharp drill bit . The only problem I had was when I install the bar I install it upside down witch make it hit . When I called RoadMaster after a bit they told me to flip the bar over . I told them in the instructions they only say to install bar , no this side up or this side down so I put it with the RoadMaster name up . He said there was a running joke if the label was down it probably was rite . NO JOKE TO ME .

2011 Ford F-53

I installed the 1-3/4" sway bar kit. I have a 38' coach so wanted all the help I could get. Thus far the improvements to the handling have been very very welcomed. It's now a rarity that that I encounter any sway or push from passing trucks and barely noticeable sway from strong crosswinds. Now I don.t have to fight the coach constantly. Driving is much more relaxed.


Easy to install, but of questionable value. Reduction in sway was perceptible, but in the end it resulted in only modest improvement.

I bought both front and rear anti-sway bars for my 2015 Forest River Georgetown 364. After over 10K miles, I still say the improvement is only modest. It wasnt until adding Sumo Springs that I saw a significant improvement.

Great service. Shipped UPS 3 days. Arrived yesterday. Some of the packaging could be better, but overall I'm very happy. Haven't installed yet, I'll post some pictures of them later. Hopefully they will improve the ride/driving in my F53 chassis motorhome as much as Roadmaster claims.

What a complete difference this made on my Class A motorhome. At highway speed, I am no longer pushed aside by the big rigs. The coach tracks straight a whole lot better, and body roll is improved. Installed it myself, with help from a buddy? Highly recommend this sway bar!

Was an fairly easy install with two people , has held up well so far . Helped stop sway with my top heavy truck camper load. At the time it was the only sway bar that fit the ram 3500 with 6.4 gas hemi due to exhaust system interference with other brands .

I recently purchased a 2011 Itasca Cambria 28 with only 10,500 miles. Our first trip made it clear that I needed to stiffen the chassis. Unfortunately Roadmaster Anti-sway bars are backordered, and though you should put those on first, I just installed the Steering Dampener. Easy installation though you need to be careful about seating the bushings. The videos are much better than the printed instructions. Already see a big difference in how much tighter the steering is. Can't wait for the bars to arrive. Disappointed to have to wait 4 weeks.

One year later, we have put over 22,000 miles on our rig, and added new tires. The ride is so amazingly better than without the steering stabilizer, and especially the anti sway bars. These additions are absolutely worth the time and money. I would strongly recommend them. You won’t regret it.

Relatively easy installation on my 2004 Ram 3500. It would have been easier if I had removed the spare tire. I only noted a few minor issues. The instructions say to mount the U brackets to the rear two holes in the shock mounts. However, on this truck the shocks mount one in front and one in rear. Therefore, the passenger side mounts in the rear two holes, but the driver side mounts in the front two holes. Otherwise all went well.

Easy installs on my 2004 E-450. The new Roadmaster 1139-115 front sway bar and the Roadmaster 1139-147 rear sway bar greatly improved the handling and cornering of the motorhome. I have aDraw-Tite 65001 front mount receiver mounted and there were no problems when installing the front sway bar.

It is actually a pleasure to drive! When cornering the motorhome would lean and things would slide around and i even had kitchen drawers open. The problems that i had no longer exist. The cost and the work i did to install were well worth it!

The sway bar is high quality compared to the oem bar. I have a 2020 MBZ 2500 Sprinter 144. Basically, the roadmaster is three time the factory bar in terms of weight. And it shows. I took it on a ride down some winding roads and sharp turns and the back end feels much stiffer which equals control. I travel alot on Socal freeways to get to my destinations and it was very unnerving when driving next or passing freight trucks. I also pass through valleys and the winds can really making driving a bit uneasy. So, I anticipate this mod will add to my comfort level as well as my passengers. Time will tell. Now for some thing negative, well not quite but still some information buyers will need to know about installation. My van came with endlinks that were not compatible with the roadmaster. I knew this and order a set of end links for a 2019 model. Be aware that you will need new end links if you want to fit this bar to your 2020 model. At least that was the case for me. See pics. Overall, I'm satisfied and the cost is definitely worth the peace of mind.

Last year I installed the Sumo Springs (lighter load rated) front and rear and rear Koni FSD dampeners which helped noticeably on my 2017 Winnebago View 24J by stabilizing the ride.
I finally installed the Roadmaster rear anti sway bar RM 1209-120 immediately after receiving today. Absolutely worth the low cost for the major improvement in ride comfort and stability. These are direct bolt on replacements for the OEM Mercedes part and utilize the stock mounting bracket hardware.
For a total of less than $xxx I have completely transformed the ride of my Class C motorhome.
