Hello, neighbors, Steven here with etrailer.com. Today we're looking at an Optronics LED trailer mini clearance and side marker light with grommet. It's round and it's a one diode red lens. Now, folks, I will go ahead right now from the start, shut off my overhead lights just so we can get a quick view of this while I've got wired up in the dark. So let's go ahead and shut off these lights, and I'm gonna go ahead and zoom out now. And this is about, oh, I'd say 10 feet away or more, give or take.
So that gives you an idea of how bright and visible it is, especially at nighttime. So obviously it's not super, super bright compared to the whole picture there, but obviously it also sticks out like a sore thumb because it is red and it's very noticeable. So the light output, as you can see, very nice for as small as it is. And again, it is a two wire pigtail with bullet connectors, so it's easy wiring. Let's go ahead and shut this off and unplug it so we can get into the light itself.
So getting into it again, you got a nice grommet. It's a rubber grommet, it's gonna keep everything nice and clean and tight. So what you do is you basically drill a hole to the size of the grommet per the instructions. And then all you gotta do once you put the grommet in place is push this into the grommet and it'll be surface flush mounted. And again, you got the bullet style connectors here to make it easy to change on the future if you ever have to or need to.
The lens is a durable polycarbonate lens. It's gonna be nice and strong and long lasting. This is compatible with 12 volt DC systems. The light itself is 3/4 inches diameter and about 9/16 of an inch thick. It is waterproof housing and the lens unit is submersible because it has been sonically sealed from the factory.
Now, once again, this functions both as a side marker or a clearing slide when mounted. It just depends on how you wire it up and where it's at on your trailer. And that's gonna wrap it up, folks. I'm Steven. Thanks for watching, and as always, stay safe while you're towing.
