Place this flexible heating pad under your vehicle's battery in the winter to maintain its charge and to ensure that your engine turns over. Measures 8-1/2" long x 5-1/2" wide. Plugs into a NEMA 6-15 (15 amp) 240-volt outlet.

As the temperature gets colder, your engine not only requires more power to start, but it also receives less power from the battery. As you can see in the chart above, your battery's power drops to 65-percent of its normal capacity at the freezing point. At this same temperature, the engine needs 65-percent more cranking power than it would normally need in 80-degree weather. By using this thermal wrap on your battery you can ensure that the battery will maintain the same amount of power that it has in warm temperatures. As a result, your engine will get the cranking power that it needs to help ensure a successful startup.

Hi everybody, Andy here with etrailer.com And today, we're gonna take a look at this Kat's Heaters battery heating pad for your series 24 batteries. This heating pad will plug into your NEMA 6-15 240-volt outlet to help keep your car battery at full power in the winter for more reliable startups, giving your engine the cranking power it needs to turn over and helping prevent cold weather related damage to your battery. Now as I mentioned, this is for a NEMA 6-15 240-volt outlet. And as you probably know this is that outlet is a 15 amp 240-volt outlet, that's not one of the more common outlets that you find. Typically they can be found in places like warehouses and workspaces like shops and garages. Now as the temperature gets colder, your engine not only requires more power to start, but it also receives less power from the battery.
As you can see in the chart there on your screen, your battery's power drops to 65% of its normal capacity at the freezing point. At the same temperature, the engine needs 65% more cranking power than it would normally need in 80 degree weather. So by using this heating pad under your battery, you can ensure that your battery will maintain the same amount of power that it has in warm temperatures. And as a result, your engine will get the cranking power that it needs to help ensure a successful startup. Now this pad is made here in the USA and it's going to resist oil and acid with this silicone material.
And you're just, again, going to place this underneath your vehicle's series 24 battery and plug this into your NEMA 6-15 240-volt outlet. This has a wattage of 60 watts. And let me retrieve my ruler here and just give you some overall dimensions. Looking at the overall length first, we are sitting right at 8 1/2 inches long. And the overall width, we are sitting right at 5 1/2 inches wide.
And I measured this cord earlier and this measures about 4 1/2 feet long. Now, if you're looking for a heating pad for a more traditional 120-volt outlet, we do carry that here as well. And I am including the item number for that particular heating pad on your screen. Just take that item number and put it in the search field of our website, and it will take you to that particular heating pad. Instructions are also included with this.
And that's going to conclude our look today. I do hope that it was helpful for you. Again, my name is Andy. Thank you for joining me..

We placed this unit into a Generac 20kw standby generator. Unit is controlled by a thermo switch on at 0 degrees F / off at 30 degrees F. Works fine to keep the unit ready for any power outage. We used a piece of 1/4" coated plywood between the heater and the battery to prevent overheating the battery bottom. This is the 5th similar installation. Others have been in service for 6+ years.
I assume it works. Based on the product instructions I plugged it it when it was really cold and northern Minnesota can get really cold. I assumed the warmth could be felt on the outside on the bottom of where the batteries are, I think it was warmer, maybe? At the end of the really cold part of winter the batteries didn't freeze, so I guess it worked! It came when it was supposed to and came to my house. Previously, going with another company, it was shipped 200 miles away from me, what a pain.
I used this through a winter in the north where it regularly is at subzero temperatures. Truck always started without any issues. I also had heat pads on the oil pan and transmission that I bought from etrailer. At -40+ degrees the truck always started relatively easy.
Already had one and it works great, really helps save your battery on cold days and makes starting/cranking speeds faster instead of the slow crank you get when your battery is cold, i consider it a must have for winter where we get to -20 easily. The last one I got was from another site and cost at least 20% more there, so definitely happy I could get the same product for cheaper here.
Cust. service is top notch. Thank you for contacting the USPS to locate my package. It got their attention. They were reluctant hand it over. After speaking with the Postmaster we finally received our Kat's battery heater. Made in the USA. Thank you for your much valued time for all your wonderful agents in your customer service dept. Also, it was packaged very well & arrived in great shape.
Very warm, your battery thinks it’s Jul y!
Just as advertised. This Kat's battery heater will be keeping the battery warm in a whole house backup generator for when it gets real cold here in northern Wisconsin. It's connected to a thermostatic switch that's set to turn on at 10 degrees.
Great product and very fast shipping t hanks
Very good product. Worked fiawlessly. Used it for a re-conditioned battery which begins to freeze @ about 15 - 16 F. Kept it from freezing overnight on several nights. Also purchased a battery pad heater for another car with a slightly larger battery. The pad heater did the same thing perfectly. If you live in the northern parts of the US and want to use re-conditioned batteries (Epsom salt & distilled water) over the winter, these heaters are essential for protection from freezing. Thanks etrailer.
Works great, perfect size because i can only wrapped 3 sides anyway. Big difference when battery is on the weak side too
Heats up well and keeps battery's warm, just the ticket for diesel pickup trucks on sub zero days. Combined with a block heater even the coldest mornings are no trouble.
Have bought two Kat's battery heaters over the past 5 years. Both worked fine for a year or two and then burned out-quit working. Am on my third now from another company. Worked fine till they didn't. Am going out today and check on the new one. 20 F tonight. Have it on backup generator.
The battery warmers I ordered from etrailer was just what I needed to protect my boat batteries from the ice cold temperatures this past winter, since I couldn't store them inside. They worked perfectly with an thermal switch.
Thank you etrailer for a great product.
Jonathon at eTrailers help me verify this product would work in a 2013 Hyundai Santa Fe AWD 2.0T.
Installation was done by a 3rd party for free.
We've had days of -20 to -30 C weather a few times now this winter. Works as it should.
the heater pad burn out about 30 days after I installed it junk im not happy with that at all
Awesome unit. I use it for my electric golf cart to keep the batteries warm during the winter months.
The battery warmer gets quite hot it seems. I intend to run this without a timer overnight. Is this going to burn out running for 12 hours at a time
I installed this battery blanket right after I received it and had our first sub-freezing temps shortly afterwards. You can definitely tell the difference when cranking over the motor. Works as I had hoped it would.
Great heater, works as advertised. Fit my 98 Jeep Xj perfectly. I bought it last year to try and salvage a week cranking battery when it was cold. Well, a year later I'm wrapping up the same battery for the cold months ahead! Save the strain on your bat with a Kat!
Great product. We use these on agriculture machines. Has kept our batteries warm and we have not experienced any battery swelling issues (due to cold weather). Product was easy to install and has performed well. No complaints!!!
I've used these items during the winter for the past 5 yrs or so and have NEVER had a Battery a Failure or No Start with these. Just Purchased two more for a couple more vehicles added to fleet.
The product is exactly what I ordered. Three day shipping didn't turn out so well but, etrailer refunded my shipping for three day. That's very good customer service. I'll order from them in the future.
