One of the more popular cooling systems available, the radiator-style, plate-and-fin heat exchanger provides increased surface area so that fluids can spread out along the finned chambers to cool faster. In addition to the increased surface area, this cooler also features turbulator technology, whereby fluids are agitated continuously, not only to facilitate heat transfer, but also to prevent any undesirable drop in pressure.

Jeep Wrangler

The product is great, the only issue I had was that it did not have the correct connectors for the Jeep Wrangler, but I was able to get some quickly. It's kept my Jeep's Trans fluid temp nice and cool, even when pulling my 3k pound travel trailer.. GREAT!

by:

Easy to install and has worked great on my '06 4Runner v6. A little extra piece of mind for the mountains. This size just barely fits on the passenger side of the radiator - there is a central, vertical support bar behind the grill that prevents a wider cooler from fitting.

by:

I can not install the transmission cooler BECAUSE the other parts ordered has not arrived.

by:

This Transmission cooler really works well. It keeps my transmission much cooler while towing heavy trailers. I connected it in series with the factory coolers for a lower operating temperature. If towing or hauling heavy loads I recommend this plate cooler. Also plates remove more heat than tubes.

This cooler is great. The transmission even towing rarely ever gets above 150 degrees. Heat is the main cause of transmission failure and fluid turning to varnish. Highly recommend this cooler.

by:

Packaging was damaged but no damage to cooler due to solid construction. Had done online searches for installation tips and suggestions. All very beneficial. However, this cooler is larger than many I saw online and I had to find an alternate installation location. I was able to find a suitable location in front of radiator and minor modification (drilled two additional mounting holes in mount bracket and trimmed one corner for clearance.) Overall has shown lower transmission operating temps. Have not towed since installation and hope that lower temps carry over to towing a load. I give this product, shipping, and customer service a thumbs up.

by:

This was easy to mount in front of the radiator, and connections were correct to run as 2nd trans cooler for Armada, towing 6500lbs. Immediate change to about 15-20 degrees on long uphill climbs. Just need to inform the tranny guys that it takes more fluid whenever you get a change.

by:

Works great to cool the air going into my Air Compressor tank.

by:

Parts arrived fast and in good condition. My setup needs recessed mounting, and I must use the cooler's bolt holes for proper clearence and support. Supplied plastic ties and foam are not quite enough for a secure mounting, and the supplied hose barb fittings are nice aluminum, but I need a 1/2" barb end, not 3/8". These little things are no problem. I'm happy and will buy from e-trailer again.

by:

Replaced Trans cooler on 1 ton. Temps running lot lower than stock cooler.

GMC Canyon

I added the cooler brfore going on a cross country trip. So far, I have climbed the ozark mountains , Guadalupe mountains, kings canyon and death valley. The highest temperature so far was 186. I'd say it is working better than expected

This aux transmission kit was easy to install and did just the trick in bringing my engine and trans temps down form towing my trailer. Definitely recommend!

1996 Ford F-250 Super Duty

Really sturdy and heavy duty, had to move my tire for install but not relocate it on my 96 f250. Took me a little over an hour, had pre existing holes so I only had to drill two of them out.

by:

Good product. Great instructions. For me, easy to install

  • What Transmission Cooler and Installation Kit for 1997 Ford F-350 7.3L V8 Power Stroke Diesel
We have several options in transmission coolers for your 1997 F-350 7.3L V8 Power Stroke diesel and all can be seen on the link provided. Coolers are not vehicle-specific so you can use as large a cooler as you have space to mount it. The linked articles will give you plenty of useful guidance about placement that will guide your choice. If your truck uses 1/4-inch or 3/8-inch NPT trans-line type fittings you will need to use install kit # D13014; if it uses 1/2-inch-20 partial thread...

  • Fitment and Installation of Derale 9000 Series Transmission Cooler Kit on a 2004 Chevrolet Silverado
I spoke to my contact at Derale and he informed me that you will be able to use the existing lines you've run on your 2004 Chevrolet Silverado for your 8000 series cooler # D13504 to switch out just the cooler portion for the larger 9000 series # D13614 with no extra adapters. I have linked the above mentioned products to this page for your viewing and purchasing convenience.

  • Does the Installation of Derale 15902 on 2015 Toyota 4Runner Require the Use of the Sandwich Adapter
When installing the Derale # D15902, the Universal thermostatic sandwich adapter is used to add your oil lines to the cooler. It's not necessary to install the adapter during installation if you don't want to have your oil cooled as well. Using this cooler without the adapter will only bring the temperature of your coolant down and not the engine oil with this type of installation. You could look to see if there is an oil filter available that would allow you to use this feature or you...

The best transmission cooler kit for your 2018 Ram 3500 Dually with the 6.7 Cummins Turbo Diesel engine is going to be the Derale Series 9000 Plate-Fin Transmission Cooler Kit w/ NPT Inlets item # D13611. • Recommended Transmission Cooler For 1995 Ford F250 With 7.3L Diesel Powerstroke Engine
The Derale Transmission Cooler, part # D13614 is designed to work with your 1995 F-250 with the 7,3L diesel. Since you said you have a small cooler already I recommend running the fluid through the cooler you have and then through the # D13614, and then through the radiator. This would be the optimal way to cool your fluid. To make it much easier to install the hoses it is recommended to use part # D13024 if you have 1/2-inch-20 threads. If you have 1/4 or 3/8 inch NPT-trans-line fittings...

  • Supplemental Transmission Cooler Recommendation for a 2001 Ford F-150
Factory coolers are often times adequate at best for non-towing applications. For a cheap insurance policy I would add an additional one to your 2001 Ford F-150 since you basically can't over cool a transmission. The cooler you can keep the fluid the longer the transmission will last. A very popular option that would work well for you would be the Derale part # D13614 that you referenced. You would also want the fittings # D13025 to allow the installation of the cooler to be a bit easier...

  • Transmission Cooler Recommendation for a 2003 Acura MDX
I would suggest the largest plate and fin transmission cooler that will fit on your vehicle to provide the most cooling.Transmission coolers are flow through devices so you can pretty much use any transmission cooler you want as long as it will fit in your vehicle. You cannot cool the transmission fluid too much so there is no worry of installing a cooler that is too large. The only precaution with a very large cooler is to let the engine warm a bit on bitterly cold days before taking...

  • Recommendation For Transmission Cooler On a 2010 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 Towing a 7,000 Lb Trailer
Ideally you want to keep the temperature of the transmission fluid in the 160 to 200 degree range. You cannot cool transmission fluid too much. Transmission coolers are universal fit items so you will want to measure the space you have in front of your air conditioning condenser or your radiator to see what size cooler will fit your 2010 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. Since you will be towing a 7,000-lb trailer through the mountains with your Silverado I would recommend to use the Derale...

Transmission coolers are not vehicle specific so there are no specific instructions for vehicles. Our best cooler would be the one that is most efficient. Stacked plate coolers are the most efficient and a good option with an install kit is the Derale Series 9000 Plate-Fin Transmission Cooler Kit, # D13614. Transmission coolers like the Class V Derale Series 9000 Plate-Fin Transmission Cooler # D13614 are not vehicle specific; other pan type coolers such as # D14208 that bolt on in place of your transmission pan ARE specific to your 2000 Ford Expedition with 5.4L V8 engine. You can install Derale cooler # D13614 as long as you have space for it to mount in one of the preferred locations (see the linked article) such as in front of your AC condenser. You will also need hose fitting kit # D13025.

  • Transmission Cooler Recommendation for a 2005 Chevy Silverado 1500HD
I would recommend you go with as big of a transmission cooler as you can fit in your 2005 Chevy 1500HD. You will need to measure the available space in front of the radiator to pick out the biggest one that will fit there. The part # D13614 would be an excellent choice as it is a very efficient cooler. It's dimensions are 11" Wide x 11-3/8" tall x 1-1/4" deep. Check out the review video I attached for more info. You will also need the fitting part # D13035.

  • Recommendation for Cooling the Coolant and Transmission Fluid Temperature on a 2008 Chevy Avalanche
For the radiator coolant temperature, I recommend adding a supplemental fan or fans depending on how much space you have under the hood. There is no limit to the amount of fans you can have. A pusher fan, mounted in front of the radiator pushing air through it, would be the most efficient (provided that the factory fan is mounted on the same side and pushes air through in the same direction). A puller fan would be used on the other side of the radiator to pull air through. The largest electric...

  • Engine Oil Cooler Recommendation for a Chevy Silverado
You would want an engine oil cooler like the part # D15902. This would do an excellent job cooling the oil of your truck and has a thermostatic sandwich adapter so that it wouldn't interfere with your truck reaching operating temperature. The cooler measures 17" Wide x 12-1/2" tall x 3/4" deep. As long as you have roof for it in front of your radiator/AC condenser it would work great.

  • Recommended Transmission Cooler for 2019 Ford F-150 3.5 EcoBoost with 10 Speed
The Derale Series 9000 Plate-Fin Transmission Cooler Kit part # D13614 is my recommendation if you want to increase the cooling capacity of the transmission on a 2019 Ford F-150. I can't speak specifically of the 10-speed transmission but so long as the cooler is installed correctly and you add more fluid to the system I see no reason why this could not be done. That said, if you continue to overheat the transmission while towing then you'd be replacing it soon anyway so additional cooling...

  • Best Transmission Cooler Recommendation for a 1999 Ford F-350 Powerstroke Diesel
When picking out a transmission cooler for a vehicle you really want to pick out the largest and most efficient style of cooler that will fit the available space in front of your radiator/condenser/intercooler. If you have room for it the Derale Cooler part # D13614 would be a great choice as it is a large plate fin cooler that would do an excellent job cooling your transmission fluid. The Derale Transmission Pan Cooler # D14208 that you referenced has been confirmed to fit the Ford E40D transmission so it would fit and would help to reduce fluid temperatures. For a solution that would work better a supplemental cooler would be a better option. One like the part # D13503 would do a better job reducing the fluid temperature than a pan cooler. • Can a Transmission Cooler be Used to Bypass the Factory Cooler on a 2007 Hummer H3
It is usually the other way around with factory transmissions coolers in radiators. By that I mean that normally you see a problem with the factory coolers, not the aftermarket replacements. It is possible to bypass the factory cooler in the radiator by blocking off the input/output locations for the transmission cooler on the radiator. You would then need to mount the largest possible cooler that you can get to fit or install a remote cooler with its own fan. The Series 9000 Plate-Fin...
